Doug's Tour Diary Day 13: Detroit
Added 2023-10-31 17:10:28 +0000 UTCDetroit was the most unhinged show so far, at the end, hordes of people stormed the stage and almost started destroying the set. The stage was low and there was no barricade, so that probably had something to do with it. Our driver even went out there to help with security! I don’t have any photos of that moment because I was on high alert, wondering if I should grab my laptop and run for safety. Everything simmered down eventually and there were no big issues. The local celebrity was a rapper called Zelooperz, he crowdsourced, chugged Redbull and seemed to have fun with it.

We were at the Fillmore and the Detroit Lions we’re playing Monday night football across the street. It was a traffic nightmare and the show had to be pushed back a half hour, could have added to the bedlam of the night.
After the show, I met up with my friend Steve Smith and we had a few NA’s at a local bar called Bumbos. Steve is a former Abso alum and a great filmmaker. We played some pool, I had a fun time and took one crappy picture!
