Tour Diary Part 8

IN FLORIDA! Just north of Gainesville.

Birmingham, you nearly did it -a few points from a perfect score, only two 4s from Luke and JP on the sound, which is still very good...

The audience was great (it was a standing room only, which, I think helps the energy. The room was packed, excited, and with me the whole night - a great southern crowd who had a sense of humor about themselves, as I fell into my terrible southern guy trope a few times. We did a speedy, punk version of Buddy, which was fun in soundcheck, but not as great during the show.

JP said to me after the show - "you were on a whole 'nother level tonight." :) We're at that place where the songs are locked in like muscle memory and we can have a little fun with them. Oof, feels good.

The Q&A was really nice too - smart insightful questions, that got me thinking. Nice people. Southern charm was in effect.

AND! Our own Phil Braun came out to make a special announcement. We filmed it and will make sure Captain Carlin posts later when i get the footage. He killed. I watched backstage and was just rolling laughing. After the show, I told phil he has to do stand up - He's just got the gift. You'll see what I mean when we post it.

The greenroom got 5s across the board, which I knew going in...

Around the corner is a master bedroom with a nice shower, and another room to the left with a shower. Heaven. A good record player, arcade games... good seating. wow. Every city should have a club like The Saturn.

After packing up and loading out, we sat up on the upstairs patio and threw a little cornhole. The air was a refreshing 72 degrees.

Tonight we're rolling into a much bigger room - lots of tickets sold, but a theater that will have a different vibe I'm sure, and the greenroom reports are not positive - I'm told it's a small room with no shower (but we have a day room a block away) Tampa. Shit.

But one show until a night off. I'm feeling good.
