Were wet!!! must mean summer's coming! 

Good morning all!  First off, this blog is all about "Promises Kept" so here is the picture of Adam Duritz from the Counting Crows VB3 sent VB4 while we were on tour last summer. 

Anyway, i don't know why but it hit us hard and we just died laughing. 

In case you missed it yesterday, I've been advised that making a little music playlist from time to time would be good for me and my overall NUMBERS over there on the music streaming services, and I really like the idea of doing it (but i have to lie down my arms and just submit to the reality that there's no beating the beast called Spotify. ) So here's my first one, which was a nice way to incorporate some recent office hours guests into a general peek into what i'm listening to lately. 

In more pressing/depressing news, I've been getting generally freaked out and pissed off at the growing anti LGBT+ sentiment growing from the likes of Matt Walsh (not UCB Matt Walsh doi) Benny Johnson these grifting creeps... their crusade against Target this week felt kinda shocking... like... how is this happening in 2023? I think it's so great that there's been this movement to normalize LGBT stuff ESPECIALLY with kids (you know, without getting into overt sexually graphic stuff) because that's when it should become normalized for them. So they can grow up and not have to be deprogrammed later when they'll HAVE to accept people who have less "traditional" relationships. My kids are well aware that some people are gay, some people are gender fluid or neutral or whatever, and it's all kinda... normal for them... My God, what a blessing!  It's like getting the lifetime gift of learning a second language early in life. 

Fuckin' A. It's gonna get worse as Trump and DeSantis enter into the Thunder-dome, where "Who can be more awful and hateful to the most marginalized?" is the name of the game.  Human sized zits like Matt Walsh, Tim Pool et al are leading this movement and the dipstick politicians just follow the trends... I saw it the other day... Walsh led this whole Target boycott... it seemed to work? Like, Target's stock dropped and on cue, Ted Cruz tweeted a story about Target's stock drop with those stupid eye balls... he could have also gone with the drool emoji. 

Do I wanna get out there and start defending big bad companies like Target, who's shelves are filled with garbage? (where we go to buy shoes for the kids and last minute birthday presents)  No, but i do want to be on the record and find ways to do more, as a straight white dude.

What the hell are we gonna DOOOOOOO????? 

Anyway, wanted to mention all that on the show but didn't get to it because we just were having too much fun. I really loved having Ben and Malibu on the show. What a great, easy and genuinely inspiring chat we got to have. i hope you enjoyed it.  I'll end today's sermon with a little levity from the boy, Charlie. 

Charlie: Monday is Memorial Day, we can honor Pappy!  (my dad, who served in the Navy) 

Me: no, Memorial Day is for people who died in wars and Pappy didn’t die in a war. 

Charlie: Yay!!
