IT'S WEEKLY ANIME COMIC VOTING TIME AGAIN!

THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS!  After spending about a billion years on Cardcaptor Sakura, we're FINALLY picking a new series for Weekly Anime Comics!  And yes, by "we," I in fact mean "I've already picked several, and now you get to pick from the limited options I have provided."  That's democracy for ya!  But seriously, the very fact that I was able to get so much material out of the last show is proof that this is a better way of doing things than the old method.  But just what are the choices this time around? Well...

Slayers was the runner up on the last vote, so it only seemed right to give it a second shot this go round.  Will 2022 finally be Lina Inverse's year?  Only time will tell!  The other three options are brand new, in the sense that they weren't on the ballot last time.  The closest thing to a "new" show here is Gurren Lagann, and that's fourteen years old at this point.  HOLY CRAP time needs to stop passing so fast.  Next up is Tenchi Universe from 1995 (the same year as Slayers, oddly enough), so any 90s kids who want to relive their Toonami memories will want to vote for that one... and then go read that one blog I wrote about Toonami, while you're at it.  And if that's still too recent for you, our last option is Dirty Pair, from all the way back in the the far off distant past of 1985!  That's only one year younger than I am, so you KNOW it's old.

Just for the record, I've already watched all of these shows before (multiple times in most cases) but that just means I know for sure I'd have fun watching them again and could get a decent amount of material out of them.  So what looks good to you?  Fantasy Adventure, Mecha Deconstruction, Space Harem, or SciFi Pulp Fiction?  THE CHOICE IS YOURS!  ...oh, and just to be clear, this vote only decides what I watch for a single season.  Voting for Slayers doesn't mean you're guaranteed Next and Try and whatever.  Now, if Dirty Pair wins, I WILL throw in the first two OVAs, but only because those were supposed to be the last two episodes of the series.  The other OVAs would be up to a separate vote, just like we did over the other Cardcaptor seasons.  And yes, I have decided to make this vote open to all tiers rather than just $5 and up.  It's the season of giving, after all.  The inevitable "what's next" vote on later seasons/shows will just be reserved for the upper tiers, though.  Heck, if Tenchi wins, it could take three separate votes just to figure out what branch of the franchise to TALK about watching next.  Technically speaking, Universe isn't even necessarily the "first," I just like it better than the original OVAs.  But we'll burn that bridge when we get to it.  In the meantime, VOTE FOR SOMETHING!
