Noblesse Privilege 21

Noblesse Privilege
Chapter 21

-VB-

“Saint Geoffrey!”

I paused. I could continue to walk. I had good business to attend to.

However, Luponte did not raise a brute who ignored people, even if the owner of the voice had been a minor thorn in my side for the past … decade.

Yes, she’s one of the reasons why I was out so much, so technically the people of the blues have her to thank for the help they get from me; I would have sailed the blues a few times less. Especially since she and her father have been trying to “set me up” with her.

Yeah. No.

Turning around, I glared at the older woman - two years my senior - standing in front of me.

Dressed in that weird-ass outfit like everyone else, Saintess Margaretta glared back at me.

“Why are you here?” I asked her with a drawl. “Don’t you have slaves to rape?”

“Don’t you dare call my activities something so bulgar as rape!” she spat at me. Like literally. She had spittle flying everywhere.

Margaretta here was from the Hohenscania Clan who were the original rulers of the Roshawn Kingdom. A clan was the most basic bitch rank among the World Nobles. It was the rank that a royal and/or noble family remained. In comparison, my Royal House of vel Monstrathum earned the “Royal House” title through my actions. It’s actually funny how “royal houses” from below lose their royal titles and become mere clans here in Mary Geoise. I wondered if the “demotion” was intentional.

“Are you listening to me?!” the harpy screeched, and I gave her the full force of my glare.

Unfortunately, I did not have the Conqueror’s Haki to shut her up without touching her.

“What do you want, woman?” I demanded. “Your presence is a bore, your voice is hellish, and your make-up tasteless!”

She gasped, putting a hand on her chest. “Y-Y-You-!” she stuttered.

“Can you not see that I am busy? Get lost already!” I snapped at her before turning around. Her clan was also one of the worst slavers and rapists. Worse, they ran “breeding farms” with their slaves not for beauty or even submissiveness but to make the ugliest bastard.

If I had been a weirdo who chose to become a ugly bastard NTR’ing his way through One Piece, then I would have been born to that house. Ugh. Just the thought of being related to them made me shiver.

“W-Wait-!”

I stopped and turned around. I had been on my way to register the marriage certificate, one that both Vivi and I had signed. Wedding would be later, but I wanted to make sure that this document got through first so no one could make a fuss later. Of course, the document in question was currently hidden underneath my usual jacket (Mary Geoise could be cold at the most random times).

“What?” I asked with a drawl.

“...Why her? Why the traitor?”

I frowned.

I knew many of the World Nobles thought that way about the Nefertaris. From what I knew about poneglyphs… they weren’t wrong. Nefertaris did, after all, hide one of the poneglyphs underneath their palace, though not out of malice towards their peers.

“Why marry a daughter of the traitors?!” she demanded and she actually had tears in her eyes.

“... Because I find most of the World Nobles disgusting,” I told her honestly and bluntly. She staggered as if she’s been physically struck by the blows. “Undisciplined and uneducated. HAlf of the World Nobles know less about the world than the very stewards who they have entrusted their kingdoms do, and half of those stewards are absolute bastards who don’t know shit from fertilizer.”

“And why should we care about those tiny things?!”

“Because I care, and if you want me to be interested, then you care. That is how relationships work. Vivi and I share many common interests. Before that, I was romantically interested in her. You and the rest of the World Nobles are so used to getting whatever it is that you want that you cannot even comprehend the simplest parts of how relationships work. And what other World Noble share the same dream as I do? What other World Noble are as anti-slavery as I am? What other World Noble actually try to help the worlds below the Red Line? Can you even name one?”

She couldn’t.

“Where I rule, the people praise me, not the World Nobles. Where you and your ilk visit, people cower in fear. There are many who would gladly kill you if they get the chance and fuck the consequences.”

I turned back around to continue walking.

“Besides, this talk about traitor is nonesense. They have continued to fulfill their duty as royalties of a kingdom while most of us have done nothing up here but waste World Government’s time and resource. If anything, then it’s the World Nobles who are traitors to our rule over the world because most of us are horrible rulers.”

Meeting Saint Margaretta ruined my mood for the day, and Vivi saw that obvious mood drop.

“What happened?” she asked me.

I currently did not trust anyone in Mary Geoise to not try anything to her, so she stayed within my mansion.

“Just met a pest on the way to the office and back.”

That’s all it was.
