Hello everyone!
Let's check the progress!

I've been squashing a lot of bugs this week as well.
These bugs were temporarily fixed once, but I woke up again as a result of tidying up the flow.
There were many, but I was able to fix all of the ones listed here. rest assured!👍
As anyone who has ever played the hellversus demo knows, it takes about 10 minutes to load before the match starts. This is because the character sprites are too big, but it's too much work to redo all the sprites, so I've turned a blind eye until now. But who would play a game that takes too long to load? Now that sprite work has settled down, we have to face this problem.

This is the sprite size of the past fighting game. Compare with hellversus.

Too big.
Please excuse me for being so big. The performance of the game platform has become much higher than that of the Super Nintendo. With so many high-definition games today, I used to think that the bigger the image, the better it looked. But most of those games are in 3D, not 2D.
A fighting game needs to read about 1000 2d sprites per character. 4000 pixels seems too big even for modern high-performance platforms, and the Skullgirls sprite size I used as a reference was actually about 500 pixels.

As a test, I measured the load time with a build in which the resolution of all sprites was forcibly reduced. The screen is dirty because it was forcibly reduced.
Loading finished in 10 seconds.

I went crazy Do I have to redo all the sprites from scratch?I can't do that, I can't keep the project going!

But being intelligent, I thought calmly. There is no need to recreate sprites from scratch. Unlike pixel art, hellversus sprites are already anti-aliased, so you just need to apply the bicubic reduction method. However, I need to repaint all the layers that belong to the color palette, but I don't have to do that. I have a lot of good painters, just ask them! You shouldn't impose your own mistakes on others like I did.
Next week I'll be exploring the best resolution for sprites and reworking the color check tool to make it easier for painters.

Today, the latest movie by my respected anime director, Hayao Miyazaki, was released. Unlike the past, only one poster was released without any prior information.
I was looking forward to this work, so I thought of a full-body sketch of this mysterious character. like this.
And I saw it today. I died.
That's all today.
Have a nice day!
