I MEAN, if you have someone emotionally unstable carrying a gun in front of you, why would you continue to trigger them with you words? That shot was on him lol And I don't blame Kang cheol for being angry, sad and scared. I know him shooting the author was extreme, but if your life is full of tragedy and you found out a god wrote all of that because of money and refuses to give you a happy ending, I would be mad as hell as well. Also, existential crisis are not fun. Tho I would say that if I was Kang cheol I would not have shot him there, I would have done it on the leg, or his foot or something, shooting him almost to death attracts too much attention lol Also, every time you say Kang Cheol is just a character, my heart breaks in a million pieces hahaha Up to this point I already considered him real, MY BABY IS REAL hahaha

I totally get why y'all disagree with her forgiving him/trying to save him. But for me, I feel like the key thing is that the father didn't just try to kill him in the book, he actually *physically* and *brutally* stabbed him himself. In person and everything!! Once he did that, the father became an attempted murderer by any definition, regardless of the question of whether Kang Cheul's alive or not. So, for me at least, Kang Cheul obviously shouldn't have shot him, but I do feel like it was motivated by more than just anger or as a reaction to the dad prodding him. That was just the last straw. I also feel like at this point we're supposed to be questioning whether he even *is* a fictional character anymore. Like, for me, as soon as he gained free will, you can at least make the argument that he had attained true life. And then once he emerges into the real world, it's even harder to believe he's "just a character" anymore, you know? Anyway! I'm super enjoying y'all's reaction! It's been so long since I've watched this drama, so it's really fun to revisit it in this way. :)

Yes, you don't expect the character you write to pop out from the webtoon. But in this case, the author experienced weird stuff like the storyline changed by itself, he even went to that world, and met the character himself, and later after that still tried to kill it off without logical explanation related to how he had built the story from the start... that's why I said wriggle his way out easily. Like, it's his responsibility as an author to carry the story on its course, not just suddenly give up because he doesn't know what to write anymore. But then again, looking back at things, he tried to kill the character out of fear because of the weird stuff he experienced...hmmm

The assistant didn’t feel the shot, he just got shocked from the noise and then checked if he got shot lol. I think you missed that the investigation into who shot the author was already over, the three of them made up the story that he shot himself after writing the last chapter where Kang Chul comes to his world, shoots him and then commits suicide. They didn’t go to the police station to identify any suspect so there’s no reason why they should lie and say the corpse was the one they were looking for. They even said right before that even if the corpse belonged to Kang Chul they’d just have to say that they didn’t know him and leave him there as an unidentified body as he doesn’t have an identity in their world. So they just went there for clarity and perhaps closure.

I just had this thought as y’all were reading the comments and discussing. The show personified god for Kang Chul. The author created life and dictated what happened in his world but Kang Chul’s life has been filled with tragedy so of course he would be angry. Just like how people get angry at (a) god or the world for their unfortunate circumstances in life. Most people would never be able to meet this god but for Kang Chul he did. It shows one version of what someone who was so angry at his circumstances would do to a god that was supposed to care for his creation and a god that knowingly puts tragedy in your life.
