U read my comment, thank you! :) Yes the Left State Councillor had to change his plan, he did this by taking advantage of Won Deuk being amnesic and brought him back to the palace so things could return to the way it was prior to the Crown Prince went "missing" . In a way, he will fallback to his original plan from earlier episodes in the beginning of the drama and also look more favorable to the King (who was beginning to stand on his own two feet for, like, a minute lol) by being the guy that brought back his presumed dead son. Now that most people know the Crown Prince is still alive (or more will know in the next episode), the tension and emotion gets higher especially for Hong Shim being stuck in the middle with having to choose either to pursue the plan to live in hiding with his family or wait for Won Deuk to return. Cant wait for your reaction on the next episode! :)

In his absence the King had already gave a decree to elect another son as the the crown prince, so you can't just cancel a decree by the King. Only by proving that the current crown prince is still alive that he can stop the ceremony.
