Added 2025-05-27 11:08:46 +0000 UTCAmber adjusted the red ribbon of her summer kimono, the fabric catching the glow of lanterns strung above Liyue Harbor. She turned to the person beside her, her childhood friend, back from a distant commission.
“I still can’t believe you made it all the way to Liyue,” she said, her smile lighting up brighter than the fireworks overhead.
“I wouldn’t miss this for anything,” he replied.
They wandered through the festival together, laughing over sweet rice cakes and trading stories like no time had passed. Under the glow of paper lanterns and the hum of distant music, something unspoken settled between them.
As the night grew late and the streets began to empty, Amber tugged at his sleeve. “Hey... it’s too late to travel back to Mondstadt. I booked a hotel room. Want to share it? Just like old times.”
He looked surprised, then smiled. “Sure. I’d like that.”
The room was quiet, warm, and softly lit by the last glow of the fireworks outside. As they closed the door behind them, the space between them shrank, slow glances, quiet laughter, hands brushing just a moment too long.
No words needed. Just two old hearts finding something new...
アンバーは夏着物の赤いリボンを直した。その生地は、璃月港に吊るされた提灯の光を反射していた。彼女は隣にいる幼なじみの方を振り返った。遠くの依頼から戻ってきたのだ。
「璃月まで来られたなんて、まだ信じられないわ」とアンバーは言った。その笑顔は、頭上の花火よりも明るく輝いていた。
「絶対に見逃したくない」と彼は答えた。
二人は祭りの会場を歩き回り、甘い餅を囲んで笑い合い、まるで時が経っていないかのように語り合った。提灯の灯りと遠くから聞こえる音楽の下、二人の間には言葉にできない何かが芽生えた。
夜が更け、街から人影が消え始めると、アンバーは彼の袖を引っ張った。「ねえ…モンドシュタットに戻るには遅すぎるわ。ホテルの部屋を予約したの。一緒に泊まろうか？昔みたいにね。」
彼は驚いた様子を見せ、それから微笑んだ。「もちろん。そうしたい。」
部屋は静かで暖かく、外の花火の最後の輝きが柔らかく照らしていた。二人がドアを閉めると、二人の間の距離は縮まり、ゆっくりと視線が交わされ、静かな笑い声が響き、ほんの少し長く触れ合う手が触れ合った。
言葉は必要ない。ただ、二人の古い心が、新しい何かを見つけただけなのだ…
