several things to clarify here:
1) ssanghwatang isn't coffee but an herbal medicine tea drink. It can be an acquired taste. This was also filmed in the summer time so Kai was talking about how (un)lucky he was to get a hot herbal tea in hot weather
2) the guy from kaist is not actually Kai's mom's friend's son. They were just pretending / playing a skit in the beginning. It's a common phrase in korea that people say about a very smart, kind, enviable boy/guy because they're like that "mom's friend's son" that you are always compared to. Someone who steals all the mom's hearts pretty much
3) KAIST is one of the top universities in Korea and it's well known for science and engineering. Think of it as like what we know about STEM majors in the US. It's a school just for that. This guy came from that school. The students there had first reached out to Kai bc of the similarity in names and thus collabed. That little mascot plushie was KAIST's mascot.
4) Oh and the tv game was where you choose a channel and the person with the most amount of people showing up on the screen is the winner. If there's no people, it counts as 0.
Hope this helps!

I appreciate you guys being cautious about watching EXO Showtime. Personally I would feel uncomfortable watching it, but that’s just my opinion I think a poll is the best way to decide 👍.

Personally I don't mind if they watch exo showtime. Just think that it was 8 years ago, as far as we know at the time I hadn't done anything. But I think it's important to watch because you get to know a little about the personality and there are phrases and expressions that even today EXO-L use.
