I think you guys are being too harsh on Bok Joo. This is literally her first time ever having a crush and she's dealing with a lot of new emotions. Not to mention the fact that she's *embarrassed* because she's been body-shamed her whole life. From being called Chubs/Fatty when she was little and now being looked down on cuz female bodybuilders are "masculine". 🙄 These are her private emotions and she wanted to keep it that way even if it meant getting punished. A young woman wanted to see her crush and not get ridiculed, which as we've seen totally happens to these young women on the regular. It may seem stubborn or foolish but I totally get why she's behaving this way.
