I don't even think there is a set criteria for the expert ranking either. The "experts" are probably choreographers, song writers, etc. In the end, i think it is their preference and not really set on specific criteria.

People are focusing on mistakes as what kills their rankings, it does cost points but not that much and it looks like the point of the round was to remake the song into each group’s own. I’m going to say it, SKZ didn’t perform a SKZ song, they covered a BTOB song. They changed it but not enough to make it into a SKZ song. The crack was just a symptom, he doesn’t have the experience to sing like that comfortably. They should have changed the vocal parts for their vocalists, not do parts that were made for Eunkwang, Changsub, Sungjae and Hyunsik. If ATEEZ and iKON performed like the other group they would have lost points but they performed like themselves. I think the experts have a checklist for criteria - that’s why they rank TBZ high because they tick off boxes. They were probably told exactly how to interpret the Reborn concept. The groups rank based off which 3 performances they like best. It’s not that they disliked TBZ (or SF9 last round), it’s that they liked the other performances more and they only get 3 votes. They likely vote on what engages them the best. They’re not voting for the group that did their song out of obligation or being nice.

But i love that they still stick to their typical iKON style no matter what. I could care less with how they rank. I just want knetz to see how authentic and true they are to themselves. iKON will always be iKON despite all the shit they’ve been through and nothing will change that 😌

Also i know people didn’t like iKON’s intro performance but honestly out of ALL the performances we’ve seen on Kingdom that’s still my fav. Like everyone has been having great and spectacular performances but idk that performance for me was so genuine, so authentic, so iKON. It’s everything that i personally love in a performance.

I feel bad for iKON cuz i feel like people don’t really get their vibe. They’re frankly not the type to do huge story line or concepts and honestly i like that. They focus more on the energy and vibe they wanna give to the performance rather than always sticking to a concept. I love what Jinhwan said “If we are too conceptual we’ll lose our color”. It’s so tru. Like I’d rather they stay tru to themselves and show off their own unique sound rather than try to change their whole image to fit the kind of stage Mnet wants them to do. It’s kind of their charm for me, just seeing them have fun on stage and do what they always do haha

I think this challenge was one of the hardest for me to rank towards the end of it. I had been struggling with understanding rankings so I decided to watch the performances on youtube without any commentary or interruptions so I can get the most natural experience (since that's how the artists get it, they don't get to see the whole creative process that we do during the actual episodes) but after watching the whole thing with yall my rankings changed again because I enjoyed all of them a little more with the back story and hype from the artists watching so I don't know! I definitely looked at this challenge as the groups getting each other's songs and completely making it their own so both times I watched it I did rank Stray Kids kinda low because I could basically sing along with the song throughout the whole performance and it was more of them singing like btob (hence the vocals which they killed but there wasn't anything special to stray kids vocally) and adding a story and choreo that matched Stray Kids. That being said I see absolutely no reason for them to have ranked near last with ranking high in the introductory round and the first (although im not too worried because fan votes are going to raise them up no matter what) and I.N's mistake is not enough to focus on to validate that low ranking. I loved Ateez and Btob's performances. Ateez never disappoint and this performance with the vocals props and choreo sent chills. Btob actually succeeded in achieving that "hyping the crowd" charisma even tho they can't have audience members with the use of dancers which I loved so much. I feel like everyone got to understand that Btob is an actual threat and not just genre variety with ballads because they are amazing in all aspects. I also wouldn't have placed the Boyz so low either because not only did they challenge another group's song but they even challenged themselves by turning it into something that neither of the two have done and killed it with the tango. No matter what I am always going to value the music above any complexities, props and flips and the tango twist still being able to fit the Boyz' sound was amazing and I loved it. SF9 really stepped it up and I was happy for them since they had a rough time last round and they made the stealer even better with those trademark sf9 sexy synth vibes. The first time around the noir fight scenes had the same issue of losing me between sets like the evaluators said for Stray Kids' 1st round performance but I definitely enjoyed it I just really wished they would give some live vocals and energy musically like during Zuho's rap in the pov knife fight scene it was sooo sick but then looking at his face barely move because he was trying to be intimidating while the back track rap was super fast and powerful took me out of it and I could see that across a lot of their parts (I did appreciate Inseong's live vocal parts a lot). Lastly, I have been having love hate relationship with iKon's performances because it's iKon and I love them but knowing just how advanced all of these other performance are going to be I always felt like they didn't bring much or challenge themselves in the first two performances because although they were fun and the songs are good I could 100% see them doing those performances during WIN or Mix and Match and I could see Donghyuck feeling it from how he reacted to their 6th place ranking and how he was like "honestly no, I didn't expect us to rank high". He has this pride as their main dancer and just an all around performer so to see just where the bar was and how the newer generations all have gone miles ahead in terms of performance and knowing they just had a dance break had to have stuck out to him. So I was happy to see them do soo much for this round it's just a matter of taste where I the second time around I could understand the switch ups but some I just didn't like, like Bobby's rap was super out there for me and the chorus was not as exciting but that last section where it went red was dope and kind of wish it sounded more like that throughout but they really stepped it up performance wise and I hope they get even more creative in their next performances. All in all I do hate the ranking criteria because its useless to put on the most amazing performance you can when at the end of the day it's just a popularity contest and no matter how "global" mnet wants this to be this is all going to reflect popularity in Korea more than anything. I know mnet's trying to make their money with views and traffic on their site but the fan vote should at least not weigh so much. I say 5% views 15% fan votes 40% experts and 40% groups would be more reasonable and stable for fairness sake.

Yeah Stray Kids rank this round is absolutely insane like Stray Kids performance was my favorite from this round and my favorite from all the performances they did on Kingdom! Here's how I would have ranked them: 1. Stray Kids - The concept was amazing, the dancing was so cool and the arrangement of the song was beautiful and kept the original integrity of the song while adding their own flair. Of course there was Jeongin's mistake but it wasn't that big of a deal? Idk what is up with these "experts". 2. Ateez - This is the kind of performance i've been wanting from them, the song arrangement was amazing, the concept was top tier, the styling? Chef's kiss! It was really close for me on who would be 1st and 2nd. 3. SF9 - Their performance was a whole movie! The action scenes, the overall story and the arrangement of the song was so good! They really stepped it up and put on an incredible performance and I can't wait to see what they do next. 4. BTOB - such a fun performance! It was sooo BTOB-like and it was just amazing! Gave off such good energy and I LOVE that rock and roll vibe they did with the arrangement~ 5. The Boyz - I actually really loved their performance but the ones up top just stood out to me way more, I think they're heading in the right direction though. 6. iKON - Idk what it is with iKON but I haven't really been feeling their performances for Kingdom which is weird cuz I usually love them. I didn't really like the arrangement of the song this time, the dance was good but didn't strike me as anything too different? Idk I really hope there's a performance I really love from them before Kingdom ends. Overall, this round has been my favorite performance wise. I finally got to see the performances I was expecting for a show like Kingdom. Ranking for this round was really hard as I actually liked most of the performances a lot so my personal ranking was made with very slight differences! I too am looking forward to next weeks episode as it looks like we get a break from the drama and can have a good time seeing the groups interact and have some fun. I love to see the crazy performances and the interactions but the ranking really makes everything horrible, I'm a huge multi and stan all the groups here so my twitter tl has been a complete mess with all the fandoms fighting since Kingdom started ;~;

I lovee ateez, I really do, but Stray Kid's performance was so haunting and beautiful, everything about it was stunning. My ranking would be; Stay Kids, Ateez, BTOB, sf9, ikon, the boyz. I'm looking forward to this weeks episode a lot though because I don't have to stress about a rank lmao

My ranking is definitely different to yours and very similar to the ranking shown in the show. 1.SF9 2. ATEEZ 3. BTOB 4. STRAY KIDS 5. IKON 6. THE BOYZ. I picked SF9 and ateez at the top because their performaces were both well executed and clean. I liked btob performance as well, its simple but well explained concept. I put Stray kids at 4th cause although the story is amazing and they killed the voal and rap combo, I felt like the transition wasnt as clean as the first 3 groups. Lastly, Ikon and the boyz both have awesome moments but their performances were just overall outshined by the others. This is just my Opinion, i respect everyone's taste and ranking. I am rooting for Btob and ikon so this is definitely not a bias ranking. I know this is a competition but lets not have fanwars please. Its so sad to see please fighting on twitter after a Kingdom episode. You may or may not agree with the results but respect the groups and its fans

I must say, I.N intended to do a vocal cry — a desperate tone. So it was intended to sound like that. That’s why it was barely noticeable to others because it was supposed. to. sound. like. that. I.N is hard on himself, maybe it wasn’t what he wanted to deliver thus he cried. He said he wasn’t satisfied on his overall performance, so it wasn’t just the ‘crack’ in the end. Mnet just took that moment and point it out on us. For the rankings tho, SKZ definitely don’t deserve last place. It was a crazy good performance. The helpless and lingering feeling, it stays. The vocals on point as well. But what can I say, all groups did well. It’s just preference of the audience including the experts.

Well for the ranking this time i think it's really make no sense, it's not like other groups don't deserve their ranking or anything but i want mnet to reveal the so called 'experts' and how the other groups vote each other i'm a multi even i'm more to skz but i'll rank this as fair as possible and try not to be biased my rank : 1. Stray Kids - First of all, i have many thoughts about Skz or Sf9 but i think Skz left more impression to me. I don't know how the concept 're-born' for this round work, it can be changing the others song completely or changing the groups itself out of their comfort zone and try something new but for me it's to change themeselves so i rank skz 1st. i love how the song still can be recognized as the original 'i'll be your man' but with skz style, we can still hear the original song but at the same time we can see that it's really skz's style, they show us their powerful rap and their insanely good vocal, they're able to change the whole meaning of the song through their performance and lyrics. the way they express the sad, frustrated and desperate feelings are so great and well expressed i can feel the emotion, yes i.n made a mistake but for me personally i'm not even realized it not until mnet replaying that part like 5 times to make all of us know that someone make a mistake. if i were to describe this performnace into a one word that would be 'epic' i've got chills all over my body even when they already finished the performance 2. Sf9 - Fyi i always rank them low since the introduction perf, but for this round, they really do a good job, they not changing the original song too much and their concept fits really well with the song, i love how they use their acting skill into an amazing performance, i'm not expecting so much from them but they change me and now i really want to see what they will perform next, my favorite part was when channie got a gun aiming for his head then one of the member shot the hand instead 3. Btob - This is really good for real, i don't see why they rank so low with this performance, the 'back door' still alive but it's btob style, i don't see any Skz's colors im this performance but we can still recognize the song, i really love the concept 'back stage' which is only an authorized people can come and that's match the concept of the original song. i love how they show a different vibes in each members and i really love how they show they're having fun but still have that amazing vocal and not to forgetabout the back door choreo in the end of the performance 4. Ateez - They're really good as always, but i don't know, maybe it's because their performnace last round was so amazing that i have so much expectations from them, ofc this round they still really good but i don't see something new from them, i don't see the Ateez's 'Re-born' in this performance, they change the song 180°, i can't even hear rhythm ta anymore, it's like completely a new song and the style or the concept was not something new for ateez, i hope they will show us something really grand and new but i'm a bit dissapointed, as i said that it's not like their performance was bad, but i havea really high expectation from them but unfortunately their performance doesn't reach my expectations it doesn't left a strong impact for me at least 5. The Boyz - I think they feel a lot of burden because people always mentioning how they won RTK, and they already gave so many ideas while in RTK, ofc their performances are always good, it's elegant a great but it don't left me a big impact compared to the other groups, i even like the introduction perf more than this, the dance fits the song so well when juyeon in a cage with a woman that's really good but that's it, so unfortunately i rank them low this time 6. IKON - Really don't come at me, i'm an ikonic too fyi, my bias is jinan and i watch all their survival show i even support team b in the past, i know they're a great performance but i don't know, i think in kingdom you have to be super creative with tge performance and think how you can make a non fan became yours after watching your performance, i like it when they not change the song too much and add theie swag style into the reff part but that reff part is the weakness for me, they repeated it from the beginning until the end and it's make the performance kinda boring, i want to see the climax of the performance but it's not come, so i rank them last sadly That's all, this is my personal rank and my opinion, everyone said that no one deserve the last rank but sadly this is a competition where there have to be the 1st and the last, i don't want to cause a fanwar, i know all the groups worked so hard for this and i respect them all, even if the group rank last they still show a great performance, i personaly vote skz, sf9 and btob because i think they're my favorite.

I don't think Stray Kids deserved 6th, it was a barely noticeable mistake on a performance that was perfect. The whole thing was just weird, it's like they were trying to point it out and make it more noticeable to justify the ranking for some reason.

Idk, I think the groups themselves didn't know what the experts were looking for either. Wether they wanted to see the groups make the songs their own and therefore have the songs be ''reborn'' or the groups to try something new and step out of their comfort zone and be ''reborn'' I wish they would have made it more clear what the theme was about. And I think it's ridiculous that skz ranked 6th. Their performance was so emotional and left such an impact... Idk maybe i'm biased, but I don't think jeongin's mistake took away from the perfomance in any way shape or form. Instead his voice crack added to the desperation they were trying to potray.

The thing i don't like about this show, but unfortunately makes a lot of sense because this is mnet, is how little transparency there is in all of it. The themes are worded in a very open way but somehow they make it seem like there's only one way to interpret them, we have the experts and i assume some kind of criteria but no one knows what it is, the feedback they give (at least what we saw of it) makes little sense to me, the whole voting system is a whole other story and they don't even tell us the results of it, i could go on and on... it's just one huge mess and as much as i appriciate all the groups, performances we get to see each week and how hard everyone works i can't wait for this to be over. I just hope that groups don't feel too bad and aren't hard on themselves because of some weird ranking on an mnet show when they're all great in their own ways in what they do!

surprise with the rankings as I really think skz and btob deserve higher rank but congrats to those who rank high. overall it was good as one of the purpose of the show is to get known in korean gp and seeing a lot take interest on the plot of IBYM, its all good. fans really just need to work hard for votes and views to get them up again.

I was surprised by the ranking but at the same time not so much. It feels like -even though they are singers - they got a better score if they do wow stage rather than emotional and vocal performances. I think this round everyone was really really good and more at the same level than before. My personal ranking based on my preference is : SKZ, SF9, BTOB, ATZ, TBZ, IKON. It hurts seeing a group being disappointed every week because they rank last or at the bottom knowing they all work so hard but I guess it comes with the competition ...

I knew this was going to happen; I only wanted to watch Kingdom for BtoB (since that’s the group I stan and know besides a couple of songs from Ikon) and now I’m rooting for all of them 😂😂 Sf9 keeps getting better in my opinion; I love the fact that they do the “Grown and Sexy” type concept it really works for them. BtoB prove to people that they can literally do anything and I was so happy to see Huta come out! (Once y’all get more into BtoB y’all going to who’s Minhyuk a.k.a Huta) Honestly The boys being ranked at the bottom is stupid to me. Despite the arrow not lighting up The Boys still gave an A-1 performance; their moves were 100% in sync with each other not to mention their vocals. Stray Kids did amazing as well; yes there was a mistake however, for them to do a group’s song that’s known for their vocals and deciding to do it in the original key all while making it their own is simply amazing by itself. I agree with y’all about Ateez and Ikon; it would’ve been very nice to see them adapt to each other style in a way (Ateez taking a chill approach while Ikon does an intense choreography). The experts are hella sketchy; I truly think that they don’t even know what they’re looking for. For example, when they gave their feedback to BtoB they complained about how they focused on singing instead of having a concept and giving a performance. Yes BtoB has hardcore rapping and they do have choreography however, they are literally known for their vocals and the fact that the experts are trying to erase that is pissing me off. They’ve done that to other groups as well and it just leaves me speechless like wth do they even want? The whole ranking from 1-6 needs to be tossed out and change it just the #1 performance because seeing a group (whether you stan them or not) give their all and they get discouraged because of the low ranking is simply heartbreaking.

I just think like in any competition televised or not, there's always a criteria being followed by judges or evaluators. If mnet only showed this then maybe the knetz and us fans would somehow understand or justify the rankings. Also I have the same ranking as you guys. I just thought BTOB's concept and performance was really great. And I've watch SKZ performance so many times and it still gives me chills every single time.

I’m kinda surprised at some of the ranking here, especially skz and btob being that low... I’ve noticed that groups that do more ‘vocal’ performances tend to not do well. I think tho despite skz getting 6th, the reactions they got from the Korean public have been amazing, they really showed off their vocals and rapping here and despite Jeongin’s tiny barely noticeable mistake it shows how they’re singing live. It’s really a performance that showcased a lot of the members personal talents, especially Jisung who really blew up for being an all rounder, a lot of people were shocked at how a rapper could sing like that and Changbin really got to show off his rapping which is great, I think the experts like more ‘flashy’ stages tho, and since skz did something different and less flashy than their other performances and focused on emotions and storyline instead it didn’t do as well. I swear tho if the experts blame Jeongin for their rank I’ll be mad because it seriously wasn’t that noticeable. The only reason I noticed is because leading up to the show they kept hinting and teasing that something happened during their performance so I was waiting for something bad. Btob as well showed another side that other people didn’t expect, I’ve known btob for a long time so I know what they can do but they’re seen as more as a ballad group now so seeing that could be surprising, I’m shocked at their rank as well I feel like they really killed that performance... maybe I’m biased between those two groups idk... I’m happy for the other groups tho, all of them work hard and deserve to get high places

I feel like the main purpose of reborn is to own the song. It should show your group’s identity, not the original group’s identity but yours. For example, The Boyz made O Sole Mio like their own, just from the choreography, their synchronization, you would know that it’s The Boyz. Or what iKON did with Inception, it definitely screamed iKON, not ATEEZ. They added more swag to it which is iKON’s trademark hence the different chorus. Same goes with ATEEZ’s Rhythm Ta, from the music down to the story line and choreography, you wouldn’t see iKON, you wouldn’t see iKON’s swag but you would see ATEEZ’s intense energy and performance that they are known for which I think is what experts based their scores on. If you listen to how the groups reacted they would say “this is just like the boyz, this is definitely ikon’s song, this is ateez’s song etc.” and that is the main point of this round.

The experts judging is crazy!! Regarding I.N's voice crack, if they hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have even noticed. I thought it was intentional to emphasize the emotion and desperation they were portraying. It wasn't a standout mistake at all so I don't understand why they penalized it so much. Even knetz are confused on the ranking and are saying that Stray Kids deserved higher because their performance was that amazing. You know the ranking are messed up when even knetz say something Just overall, the experts are sketchy af. It's unfair to all the groups because there's no transparency. They never said what they were looking for or what would count. The experts are also not giving much feedback to the groups. They just penalize them and go on their way. How are the groups supposed to improve if you won't tell them what they should work on?

Actually, Changsub was sick that day. He couldn't make it to the other scheduled audio shows. But he was on the audio show the next week and he said he was fine. And I was a little relieved.

I saw someone explaining on twitter that they will reveal the final ranking for each round at the same time at the end. They will just give us ranking with no points for vote and streaming. I don't know if it's true but it would made sense in mnet pov because then we can't count the points and know who's 1st for real and they can have their dramatic effect by revealing how the final ranking is totally different than the expert+group evaluation...

So Jeongin’s (IN) mistake was actually his voice cracking a little when he hit the high note at the end, which almost no one noticed since not everyone saw this episode or the teaser (most of people saw their performance on YouTube only). It actually blended well with the feelings of the performance, as if he sounded desperate. But unfortunately he took it hard and that’s why he was upset (he has stated to Stays that he’s fine and he’s more motivated to work harder 👍🏼) However, Stays were really upset that MNET focused on that tiny mistake and made it a big deal. They were also upset at the fact that they put Jeongin crying as a thumbnail for this episode’s teaser, which basically means they used him in a vulnerable state as clout. For the expert evaluation, no one actually knows how the “experts” grade their performances and it is frustrating to the fans since the rankings are concerning. There has to be a ranking of course, but the way they ranked the groups doesn’t make any sense. The tides can definitely change with global and stream evaluations since it’s not just about how well the performance is but how much the fans can vote/stream within a limited time to bring their own groups to the top (it is a bias way to do this, but that’s pretty much the reality of it). There’s a lot of Twitter and YouTube accounts that keep track of the group’s performance views so if you’re interested to see where the groups are placed in the streaming category for Round 2 currently, you can go check them out! Unfortunately we can’t keep track of the global voting category so we’ll have to wait next episode (or the episode after that since the next one is a special episode) Also about the final results for the 1st round, we’re hoping they’ll announce it in the next episode or the one after that, but we still don’t know who won that round yet which is annoying 🙄

i still dont understand why skz was ranked so low ,,, unbelievable. and i personally didnt even notice jeongins mistake until they dramatically pointed it out 💀💀 also tbz being that low????? very weird.
