I don’t think there’s exactly a ‘correct’ choice here, William was put in literally an unimaginable situation. I think it’s easy for us as viewers to say “Oh I would have done this 100%” but I don’t think we can really understand how hard of a decision that is and how it would feel to be put in front of your sibling telling you one thing and another person who you trust greatly on the other side telling you another and Needing to make a decision in that moment. Do I Agree with the choice Will made? No not really lmao but I feel like given his character and circumstances there wasn’t a lot else he could have done, bc I don’t think will would have killed or even hurt his brother even if they don’t get along.

2023-05-11 13:03:53 +0000 UTCI think the main thing that went from "morally grey" to "supervillain-coded" was when the chase scene started. It became (probably without meaning to) more of a bit once William started saying horror movie lines and going after Xavier without even trying to talk to him and Cantrip. I mean, it almost certainly wouldn't have worked out just by talking to them, but he still should have tried to deescalate instead of go full William Wight.
