A Mother's Relief
Added 2023-04-18 12:00:05 +0000 UTCHi everyone! This is the full resolution art piece of Ollie's mother, Ella, seeing Oliver for the first time. A scene I felt no words or description could truly do justice and required a piece to capture the moment in a million words. In a recent episode I finally got to act out her feelings and deliver a monologue I'd been thinking about ever since she was introduced. I really appreciate all the affirmations and compliments for that. I know that they are not main characters, but Ella and Ollie and the story they have within the world is one of my favorite things I've come up with and I hope you guys enjoy the things to come in future episodes. Crazy how much playing D&D can teach you about people, humanity, & emotions.

2023-04-18 16:32:22 +0000 UTCI really liked the sort of dilemma about βrightβ and βwrongβ that Ollie and his motherβs story brought up. On one hand, everyone knew they should take Ollie back to his mother as soon as possible, but it was also easy to place the blame on an accidental circumstance (wrong place, wrong time for Ollie) and/or place the blame on Marshal John for not taking him back in the first place. And with Ollie suffering the effects of the compass, as well as him just enjoying his time with the riptide pirates, it became easier to make excuses not to take him back and just to ignore the possibility of a distraught mother. But when they finally get to Zero, they get to see the consequences of their actionsβ a mother who has been suffering physical and emotional pain for every second that her child was gone. Was her suffering really worth the time that Chip, Jay, and Gill got to spend with Ollie? But was it really their responsibility to drop everything and return Ollie? Love the moral dilemma stuff like this. Grizz, SUCH a great job portraying Ellaβs emotions. Anyways, love JRWI, love you guys, wet dreams everyone :)
