I feel like the crew isn't being rough enough on Nicolaus, to me, dude is like EVIL. Not in a "He's senselessly doing bad things" way, I'm sure he has motives and those motives lead him to do the stuff he does, but even before asking for whatever favor he wants to get out of Gillion, which I'm guessing won't be a pinnacle of selflessness, dude is ALREADY a major hypocrite. No, the people didn't kill themselves, HE KILLED THEM, they had flaws and selfish-ish motivations because they're human and instead of helping them overcome those flaws or at least leaving them the fuck alone, he made it worse for them in every single way and in some instances, straight up killed them. That's not enacting any sort lf moral high ground, that's being a self absorbed prick who thinks he's justified and he ALSO has alterior motives in the deals he makes, which are probably not gonna be as selfless as Gillion's deal which was literally selflessness epitomized, yet I don't see him enacting the same sort of moral imperative on himself, as he does for his victims

2022-09-27 06:08:38 +0000 UTCI was working my new job while listening to this episode, and I'm so glad nobody else was in the room because I was making all sorts of noises and flailing around from excitement. It was devastating and I loved every minute of it. Chip and Jay's conversation almost made me cry, I felt the gut-wrenching dread when Niklaus pulled out the pearl so casually, I shrieked when the Limonade Empire was revealed, I was so sad to say goodbye to Goobleck, the skrunkly little guy, but I am excited for him to be a future easter egg in the other campaigns and possibly one-shots or what-ifs. I want to give all the characters hugs. Thank you Grizzly, as well, for weaving such a genuinely cool story. You take the nonsense and make it fit into your big, wild puzzle in the most satisfying of ways, all while adding elegant and unique characters and settings and mechanics into the story to make it feel so much more real.

2022-09-25 17:27:27 +0000 UTCThe editing in this episode felt weird, especially with the chip and jay talk, and Niklaus' conversation towards the end. The cutting out the little silence bits or the just general gaps in speaking make it feel really unnatural, like written dialogue in a voice acted game that you keep skipping through. I just found it really hard to engage with it when I noticed it, it just made those scenes lack the weight they outta had.
