(Not that they are becoming bad, but they are aligning with ideology that the heroes label as villainous.)

2022-09-09 12:08:17 +0000 UTCI was once a player in a session where our DM presented our party with two jobs to pick from for the session: one to guard a warehouse, the other to steal an artifact. We ended up splitting in half and doing both jobs, which our DM was VERY displeased with. We assumed it was because he would have to run two separate missions simultaneously, but then we started to notice a bit of overlap in some of the landmarks and events happening. When our two groups ran into each other, we realized one group was protecting the artifact the other was there to steal. The Big Combat of the episode ended up being our party having to fight each other. Which was really crazy and emotional to us at the time because our party had always gotten along super well. So it was quite the twist.

Like instead of Dakota resolving the Summer storyline and separately Vyncent and Will resolving the prison storyline, and having to possibly jarringly jump between them, they are just on different sides of the same storyline, and like are affected by the same events.

2022-09-09 11:55:39 +0000 UTCI really would love to see William and Vyncent try to convince Dakota to break into the prison with them (with Dakota refusing to go with them and staying behind), and then see William and Vyncent get CAUGHT at the prison and be fully prosecuted/punished by the Prime Force (possibly maybe even something as serious as being scheduled to be depowered), with Dakota now being given the choice to break in and save Will and Vyncent. It would be really cool to see some development with Dakota where he is put in a position where he HAS to choose between his friends and his heroes (literally and metaphorically). It would SUCK for Dakota of course, but conflict makes characters, and I'm really wanting some more development for our favorite red boi

2022-09-04 16:40:29 +0000 UTCOkay but what if instead of Grizz making another character or Dakota doing another mission simulatneously, Will and Vyncent do their whole plan without telling Dakota and he finds out when they're partway through (like, I can see him meeting up with the professional heroes--maybe meeting with Harlem and getting the harsh truth about what's going on with Miss G?--and somehow or another they end up going on a tour of the new prison, and he stumbles on Vyncent and William about to kill the lich) and Dakota confronts them. So instead of having to convince Dakota to join their plan or distract him, they actually have to FIGHT Dakota. Like a "what's more important, what we think is right or our friend?" I think it would fit really well into a storyline of the professional heroes taking Dakota under their wing (maybe even Harlem specifically) to make him the next Miss G because the Prime Force are fading from the picture. Dakota becomes more powerful and everyone tells him that he is going to be the best hero ever--it's everything he's ever wanted. But he also learns the morally grey side of what the big heroes do, and he is pressured to do the very things that William and Vyncent are questioning the professional heroes for doing. (Like they get caught breaking into the prison and put in the supermax themselves, and are suddenly treated like villains, and then it all comes to a head when the professional heroes order Dakota personally to depower them.) Straight up Dakota Zuko arc. I am basically writing an entire fanfiction over here, but that's how you know shit is getting good lol

It's clear Bizly did a lot of work on the setting and what's going on, but god I'm happy that Dakota is reminding the gang that they have an actual main plot to do lmao, there were so many cool side quests thrown out that I forgot finding the book was the thing they were trying to do.
