Somehow the randomness of D&D - like what caused Peter’s death - is what creates the best stories. But none of that would be possible without these guys. Condi created an absolutely phenomenal setting and story, then every one of the players made compelling, nuanced characters. You guys are phenomenal. I can’t wait to see how this all ends.

Bravo honestly on an insanely gripping story and world. I'm as excited as I am sad for the ending. But at the same time, It feels right...

2022-07-18 19:52:10 +0000 UTCi'm being 100% serious when i say this show is everything to me. peter's story is so important, going from a nobody who sorts rocks to gaining the power of the gods all because he found people who really, truly love him. completely inadvertently, peter sqloint, who was supposed to be the awkward hypeman, ended up being the most important person in the world. i think apotheosis is one of the greatest love stories of our time. i don't just mean rumi and peter's relationship, either. the godslayers all love and care for each other so much, even in what is essentially the end of things, and i doubt they could have accomplished so much together without that love. they certainly would never have come this close to the fabled good ending. it proves that love is the antithesis of fear.

I'm so happy to see the vulnerability, bravery, and love each of these characters have towards and for each other. I'm so excited for them to KICK ASS!!!! Go God Slayers Go!!

2022-07-14 06:31:15 +0000 UTCoh hit enter too early my hands are trying to type too fast yikes (<- so fucking hyped over the episode still) but yes the character development in both these episodes has been insane !! i think it's so cool that their relationships with peter has brought both thanatos and rumi away from their paths especially when thanatos' path would've been so destructive (still not sure how rumi's would've turned out - potentially a way it could've been twisted which i guess is the point of making peter a god) anyway both thanatos and rumi made choices that i was hoping they'd make so i'm winning at least (for now.. who knows how the finale will go) very attached to these characters and this story - i think everyone worked so well on this and it's been an absolutely amazing experience so far. very excited for the ending !! me and my friend are going to go talk about this for the next 2-3hours and also the rest of the week until the next episode comes out now i think if i tried to pick out a specific line or moment i liked the most i'd have to quote the whole episode here so i won't do that. okay wait i'll say: rumi fighting to save peter while peter is fighting to save rumi - very lovely

2022-07-13 23:57:18 +0000 UTCI just want to ramble about how well they handled Peter being brought back to life. I usually really don't like characters being revived because it is almost always just feels cheap, but the fact that Rumi had to give up literally everything they’ve been working towards throughout the entire campaign and also seriously considered their options before making this choice added so much more weight. Peter’s resurrection was earned, Rumi had to go through major character growth to make this decision and it was very obvious that it was not an easy decision to make and it took the power of literally every God they had killed so far to bring him back. Peter also went through hell and back and grew as a character while dead. He fought for his own freedom and overcame what was essentially his greatest flaw, meaning he wasn’t just idly waiting to be saved. Peter is alive and he is free and it felt like they really had to work for this, rather than it being an inevitability and all three of the main characters were heavily affected and grew because of what happened. This episode (and the entirety of Apotheosis) was incredible, Thanatos laughing broke me and I loved absolutely all of it. Also side note, I love how no one even considered blaming Thanatos for Peter’s death. It’s a trope that you see all the time, it’s frustrating as hell and I am so so glad it wasn’t used here.

What I was not expecting was for them to make their very own special third option by combining the first and second ones. Yet, here we are.

2022-07-13 18:38:02 +0000 UTCOkay but real comment this time. There's such poetic beauty in reviving Peter and giving him the power from the god slaying... Because he IS just some guy. Rumi wanted to become a god to balance out the world for the people, but they themself don't know fully what it is to be a person in a way. They're a preformer, and have been playing entire lives as "roles" their entire life. There would've always been some sort of ethereal detachment from humanity. Thanatos being slain by Rumi, I think, would have been a potential recycling of the events of Apotheosis in distant centuries under Rumi's control. If Thanatos ended Rumi, then that's two people he's grown rather close to and have fallen by his blade. Once by the influence of the gods and the second BECAUSE they'd ascended to be what they all sought to destroy. But Peter. Dear, sweet, Peter. He was the most human(oid) out of the whole trio. He knew what it was to be pushed around, but be content with his circumstances as best he could be. Undauntedly fawning over rocks and his humble goal of getting his lizard a new log. He didn't want anything FOR himself. He always did and acted FOR others. The first time he stood up for himself, it was to protect someone he loved. So in conclusion. Praise be Sqloint. Cannot WAIT to hear the finale.
