I just want to reply to this because I get your pain points. And trust me when I say that I saw the lack of open world/the ability to see gradual change in locations like the Bakery being non-existent so far being a potential problem a while ago on my own end. The only reason I feel that I have to stick to more linear parts is because of the vision I have for the second half. There is a bunch of free roam stuff planned (even for before the fall, if I can stay with my vision) but the problem is that the player now has to go through more linear arcs that they might not like before that. Yet part of the reason why I had to do those linear arcs is so that everyone can be put in their position to act in the second/third half. There's a fix that I've thought up that makes it feel less linear that I'll slot in soon, I just didn't have the time for it. The final version of the beginning of the route will likely feel less linear with this addition. Anyway, There will be a drop off point where things happen the way it did with Masaru and when the excitement happens again, the thing with this route is how much longer it seem to take to get there. I do think that my need to slow-burn the slow burn and make things more elaborated as to why the fall happens the way it did can backfire at times. I'm glad that there's enough people that like it though. Your negative reaction to Drex (the house guy) getting it easy is one reason why I needed to do slow burns but like, there's a lot of stuff I can't say just yet with Drex and I can only hope in later updates you can see why he was able to get it "easier".

And talking about the reports, yes, I would even like rough sketches or whatever, even no CG's, just text is good, I also follow corruption of the village and he updates every month and sometimes even more so I unsubscribe constantly. Currently not even the higher patrons are getting any kind of update. I just hope that the compromises you are talking about are story wise and not mechanic wise, thats what I got from what you said.

Masaru route has a lot of pain points, the fact that I refuse to replay it just because I need to open up a guide to not get lost is the main reason, the second reason being the overly complex story that is irrelevant to the corruption to be honest, the whole mansion thing, the blue haired girl and his brother in the hotel, Masaru daughter conversations, most of the puzzles that have nothing to do with CG's or pixel scenes and some more that just makes me refuse to go through it. I have wanted to replay it like 8 times and I always end up just going to the recollection room, thats bad. But this is me just telling you the specific bad parts, I have always said only good things so maybe this can help in some way. Even with those parts, the first play through was so great and exciting I came to give you support, the story and corruption is excellent, those pain points are not enough to give this game a score lower than 8 for me. I gotta say that you reworking some of Masaru route would be great, I really like it and it would make me actually replay it, but yeah, Im also really hyped for the new route development so... One more thing I want to ask, I was rewatching the CG room and one of the best scenes is the one where Masaru and Shion do it on the bakery at night where the MC sees it and we can see like the scene in pixel, its like a mix of CG and pixel, I really liked that, but you never did it again. Another thing, there have been little to no pixel scenes in a lot of time, I really miss those (my favorites are the bakery where you find them doing things and the RV where they block you with boxes). I feel like some of the exploration is being lost because of being locked in specific places to progress the story, that's a net negative for the game in my opinion. Waking up and being excited to go to the beach/bakery to see if something changed, if there's someone doing something he/she shouldnt be doing, finding something weird, the mystery, all of that is being lost, I suppose that this is expected when working on something for so much time, you start to lose grip of what makes an excellent game a masterpiece. I won't say too much about the beach route because its in early stages still but there are some things I really disliked like the guy getting a bj as easy as he got at the start, after his house puzzle, dont remember his name. This sounds negative haha but I will keep saying this: I love this game, it's on my top 3, I just want to maybe remind you some things that might help you improve it going forward.

Please no. Lighthearted sucks. This is not what true NTR enjoyers want, maybe he means the complex story? Like, the whole curse and the ending of the Masaru route that went full weird (I didnt like that aswell, too much irrelevant stuff I didnt care about to be honest, not that I dont like the dark theme, I actually love ntr stories that are dark, its just it gets boring with so much intricacies. I can pinpoint the exact parts of the game that lost my attention (mansion, hotel talking with the blue haired girl and her brother, on the beach route the puzzle in the black guy mansion, really hard to get through, and some more like the masaru route beach puzzles, talking with Masaru daughter, if he isnt part of the corruption I REALLY dont care))

SSP is both your first project AND a passion project, this makes it double tough. First project means you are constantly learning and improving as you progress. This means there are things you’d alter based on new knowledge and skills when reflecting/reviewing previous work. Passion project means you invest a ton of yourself into it and want it to be PERFECT (or close to, though you may judge it with a differently labeled bar it amounts to almost the same). This is good as it really shines through in the release the rest of us get to enjoy. It’s bad because you get hung up on flaws you previously missed or new tweaks you could make. I don’t mind too much how long game updates are in terms of the current schedule, it’s a fair schedule. I also do not fault you for getting wrapped into improving past work for a little bit and then snapping out of it. I think other commenters are right, going back to old work and updating it with your new skills will probably be worthwhile AFTER you finish getting through the initial releases of your routes and are in the Beta polish phase. Or at least not in the middle of releasing a route. As for devlogs and sneak peeks, I think it would be good if we could get at least some sort of progress report on a regular basis. Doesn’t necessarily have to be as long as your normal devlogs either, if those are a lot of work to produce (though I like your rambles, they are a form of transparency and honesty with us, your Patrons). Doing the devlogs on a more regular basis may also be beneficial to you in terms of having to articulate current progress and vision. That reflection can also be good for the creator to comes to terms with a thing. As for trimming out content, I defer to your judgement. This is your project and work. I enjoy your worldbuilding and am super intrigued by what is really going on. But, you are the one that is writing and having to put in the work. Do as you think is necessary.

I think the game went too dark and whole sections of the game bring nothing to the table. You should keep the game lighthearted and explore different aspects of NTR with the different MC rivals. I think the best part of the game was the early corruption, the bakery game, and the peak was probably the AC fixing scene. It went downhill from here with a too easily corrupted Shion and un-rewarding long ass scenes turning into a litteral chore to play through.

Thanks for the situation update! I think everything you’ve said makes sense; reeling in the scope of the game/story, focusing on maintaining the adult portion, etc. I understand the desire to polish old routes given how much you’ve improved the game over each iteration, but I personally enjoy seeing the evolution of your ideas and mechanics as the game progresses. As for feeling like the Masaru route needs updating, as you continue developing the beach route and future routes, you’ll probably run into the same dilemma as you feel now. Because of this, it’d be best for you to not worry about the polishing as much until you’re closer to the end of your game for the sake of time and progress. I also think a newcomer would still find the Masaru route well done given how this game is still in development.

Absolutely agree with this aswell, Masarus route after all was what made me love this game to death, especially seeing his art grow update after update was a joy to witness.

Glad to hear you're back and well! As for the teaser I really like where this is going and have my suspicions who this could be but I am not betting on it yet and would rather stay patient. As for the Masaru route, I would say that perhaps the thought that the route wouldn't hold its own against the beach route would be that the "middle" parts of the route have (to my knowledge) not been majorly reworked like the beginning parts (minigame) and the super late parts (sauna/festival etc.) but I'd say the sauna part no matter how it's viewed was very well executed. The only major criticism that would appear to me would be that the puzzle is not easy to solve but atp I think it's fine for a game to include some mechanics that require some thinking. The phone usage however I always hoped for to be a lot better. For example: the first message Dan gets where Shion was doing a mess in the storage and later on getting something similar from Masaru where Shion where the stuff on Shion was obviously NOT from the storage was fucking hot. It was one of the major parts where humiliation towards Dan started (aside from all the stuff that happened later) and I really wished it continued on even more. The texts on the beach were somewhat what I hoped but were rather Dan being oblivious about what he talked about even when viewing the images. Still hot, but I think Dan getting more and more humiliated by Masaru in this way would've been great. I also thought it was a bit of a shame the tweet function was so far underutilized but I think it is fine since it can have many other uses in other routes/overworld. This is not to take away from the route since these are the only parts that I found lacking, everything else was fantastic. Hope I did not yap too much but those were parts I didn't directly include in the survey but just came up with after reading the post. All in all I wish you happy further development and good health :)

Thanks for the update, good to see you are still alive and well! ❤️‍🔥 To be honest it is kind of sad to hear that you're going to compromise on your creative vision on SSP's ambition as a whole; as much as I loved the H-scenes, I do enjoy your creative interpretation of concepts nostalgic to the NTR genre e.g. Phone / Hidden etc. That's including the plot and "the bloat"; Maybe I'm just the exception. However like you said, you don't want to hate how big SSP can be, and I think it is a step in the right direction. There's always extra opportunity in the future to develop those whenever you are more equipped to do so. That also being said, don't be too hard on yourself on the Masaru route; I think being able to witness the upgrade in quality as you develop the game in real-time is very rewarding and the pay-out is great in itself. I recently played Amy's Ecstasy/ Eva's Ecstasy/ Alansya Chronicles and the improvement in art quality over time was something that felt really positive for me from these games (though Eva's had a drop in story direction, the art became amazing). You can think of how better you became overall in game development after you've played it yourself. If you want to improve things in Masaru route, feel free to; I remember you mentioning there was an extra scene you wanted to add in the recent update but couldn't, that could be a small update to end that part 1 arc, and give you time to do what your heart feels like doing. And finally, we're here for the long run, spread your wings if you need to for as long as you want to, the game is great and should be done as you see fit. I'm just looking forward to playing it again. Stay well.
