They both originate from ongoing or repeated trauma/abuse. What makes Borderline different, is an added factor of โchronic invalidationโ. Invalidation of self (loss of identity), invalidation of emotions (mood swings) invalidation of achievements(recklessness impulsiveness) etc in childhood.
