Paris 1000km 1966 - Porsche 906 #49

For the WSC 906.

A familiar name to some of you by now, Annie Soisbault was one of the fastest female racing drivers from France in the 50's and 60's, racing Ferraris and Porsches during her brief career. The blue and yellow stripes often present on her cars referred to her family's shield, of the same tints.

Despite participating in the practice sessions, Soisbault would withdraw from the Paris 1000km race, instead racing her 906 in more local hillclimb events before selling the car.

Thanks for bringing this one and, as always, the back story to it. Shame that 60plus years later the situation hasn't changed much, but great to highlight a female driver and something a bit different. Beauty of sportscar racing is that every entrant is a full story in itself, so thanks for another tale!
