These two have been on my to-do list for a while, the iconic little Abarth 1000 TC (represented by Pessio Garage's Scorpion TC) as they were entered in the 1968 Nürburgring 500km.
Unlike the 1000km, the 500km was a race with limitations to engine capacity. A limit of 1600cc was imposed, thus preventing many of the bigger machines from entering and giving the little guys a chance at a fair race. Abarth entered two 1600 SP's, which took the overall win AND second place. They also entered these two Group 5 1000 TC's. Blue car 106 was driven by "PAM", while the yellow 107 was driven by Dutchman Ed Swart. "PAM" would finish in 19th overall, taking first place in the T1.0 (Touring 1 liter) class, giving Abarth a double victory.
