2023-07-14 01:54:48 +0000 UTCIt genuinely bothers me that Taylor will take inspiration from so many and has even when creating her first few albums but then she sued Olivia under an “interpolation” technically in De Ja Vu which probably wouldn’t have stood if Olivia hadn’t been so open about her love for Taylor and her music. As I listen to Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) I also see so many parallels between things she’s done (like suing Olivia and being super against women succeeding by doing so imo) in the last few years and the people she’s singing negatively about. I’ve stepped away from thinking her character is mature and have settled into the realization that she’s very petty and that leads her to act unnecessarily aggressively in certain situations while remaining a complete coward in others. Just really bothers me because I used to look up to her so much for being honoring of her word and values but all that goes out the window when she feels infringed upon in any way; even if it’s just someone else breaking a record she set. Just wanted to vent this out to a community that will hopefully not shun me for saying I’m still a fan of her work even though she genuinely disappoints me on a human level.

Idk, there would be a big fight in my relationship if my partner gave the biggest cop out ever (“if you’re upset you’re delusional or lying.”) for every hurtful thing they’ve ever said. Like, ending-the-relationship-if-you-don’t-grow-up big fight. If I had Eras tickets, I’d still go, knowing full well she’s in my current least favorite era — the Matty Era 😂 it’s one heck of a rebound and i hope it’s over soon
