wow compositing really does make all the difference! although this is a simpler compositing job than last year (or maybe because the backgrounds are simpler and there's more character acting), it still took forever to composite this whole thing. i tend to be really extra with comp because i really believe a good compositing job can enhance your final scene x100.
the animation and story have definitely improved since our last film, but i loved the backgrounds from our last film so much, (here's a link to it so you know what i'm referring to, and i attached a screencap below), that i feel like this film was lacking the colour and magic of the previous one. Next year, I want to incorporate the strong story & acting of this year's film as well as the whimsicalness and complex scenery of last year's film. You can't win 'em all! Also, maybe i'm just overly obsessed with compositing the hell out of scenes lol.
