Like I'd be so frustrated... chasing after someone hopelessly, but once you finally give up and decide to move on, then they wanna pull you back... It's giving "I just liked the attention." However, I think they're trying to frame it as you never know what you have until its gone. She was so worried of what society thought, her co-workers though, his grandfather, that she never accepted what she thought.. that she wanted to be with him no matter what. It was the push she needed.
