I think the newer Wolfenstein games would be cool for you to look at. See if it has enough substance for you to pick at. Honestly though I think its just a fun shooter.

2025-08-01 12:47:42 +0000 UTCI would recommend you try a WW2 strategy game, it mix's first person, third person and top down strategy at a command level the size of a US company (100 men). It's absolutely fantastic. Call to arms - Ostfront I would love a world war 2 piece of media done by yourself regarding the true insanity of the Ostfront. I believe you could find a way to describe the meaning of the "Ostfront" to a wider audience.

2025-06-12 04:00:26 +0000 UTCI've got one name for you, and you'd better listen. This isn't some soyjak intellectual game like Disco Elysium. No, it's a manly, righteous game, a game that will put hair on the chest of even the sleekest femboy. That game is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and yes, you can skip the first game. I did, and I only need 3 transfusions a week to survive. KCD2 is a masterpiece not only in its gameplay, but in the triumph of a AA studio and the rapport it has with its fans. It's also a blatant clone of Bethesda gameplay that exceeds the original so intensely that I saw Tod Howard weeping at his desk, for he could not replicate such greatness. Lastly, do you like history? DO YOU LIKE HISTORY? Well this game is a bit of a historian itself. I've never played a game so committed to being deeply embedded in a specific historical moment. Tldr play it, it's neat.

2025-06-04 19:58:13 +0000 UTCI think you may enjoy Timberborn. At first glance it seems like a standard, if a bit simple, city planning strategy game. But then the water starts to dry up. Then it starts raising some darker ethical questions naturally through the gameplay. All while maintaining a cute cartoony aesthetic that contrasts well with potential ethical compromises you may need to make to ensure a thriving colony.

2025-06-02 18:43:22 +0000 UTCWould love to hear your thoughts on Outer Wilds (_not outer worlds_) and its DLC. That is certainly one of the best games I have played, and it always surprises me how many people sleep on it. It may just have too much soul and optimism for our famously edgy and pessimistic gaming community to laud as much as it deserves.

2025-06-01 21:53:16 +0000 UTCMaybe you should play Kenshi. It's a game that litterly doesn't care about you. Even more that Stalker. It's a world where gamers don't talk about epic quest they talk about that time when I got enslaved and they cut off my leg. Lore I think will tickle your history bone. We are in a post post apocalipse world and what we find are not skeletons. We find grand structures. A flatland od steel with giant machines clawing out of it. No popup simply you exploring

2025-06-01 16:10:03 +0000 UTCDeus Ex actually feels up your alley, even if it's a bit dated graphics-wise. The anti corporate messaging, power brokers, all that stuff. Could be interesting. Plus it's got enough jank to also be funny.

2025-06-01 01:18:56 +0000 UTCI've been playing (modded) DooM II for the past 31 years, so huh, go check all those cool megawads, I guess. I've also played several thousand hours worth of Deep Rock Galactic & Euro/American Truck Simulator. There's a non-zero possibility that I may have German blood in my veins, but I doubt that this would be the sort of games you would enjoy. Oh wait, there might be one. Nightmare Reaper. It's a bit like OG DooM but much bonker, it's very fast with plenty of mobility option. The same could be say for Echo Point Nova which could be best summarized as "single player Tribes". One last for the road, since there's been an awful lot of talks about cars: art of rally. A stylistic and beautiful rally game that manage to be, simultaneously, meditative and unforgiving. A master piece.

2025-05-31 23:21:22 +0000 UTCOkay, for game recommendations: 1. Suzerain: Suzerain is a sort of political roleplay/strategy game, where you assume the role of Anton Rayne, a president of a middling-power 3rd world (in the original context of being non-aligned) nation country that just exited a very turbulent era. Yet all around, that turbulence continues, the world is in a Cold War. You have to navigate not just your personal life, but also the politics of your country and of the world at large, having to balance domestic and foreign policy. You really struggle to uphold your ideological pursuits. 2. I'm not sure if you've made a video on Baldur's Gate 3, but that might be interesting. 3. Maybe the Mafia series? I'm a sucker for Noir. 4. Maybe a video on Telltale Games? Their rise and fall? 5. Valheim is kinda neat. 6. Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 is getting a lot of love, it might interest you I don't really have any ideas or very well know what kind of games you like. Edit: For the meme pick try Block Tales on Roblox lmao, it's a pretty fun turn-based rpg with a lot of links to Roblox history and early culture on the platform

2025-05-31 22:54:02 +0000 UTCIve been bouncing between newer releases from Fromsoft and multiplayer games. Back 4 Blood was fun for a bit with my brother and friends. Did some trophy chasing in Armored Core 6 and Sea of Stars (Which just got updated with new DLC). Back to Elden Ring for the DLC and now Nightreign. Out of the steam library has been TCOAAL, Keep Driving and, Roller Coaster Tycoon. Not a lot of time anymore to play major releases.

2025-05-31 22:43:42 +0000 UTCDear Mr. Cobbler, i have been a longtime fan of yours, both gaming and history. I love your perspective and story telling abilities. Given your request at the end of your most recent video i have joined the patreon simply to ask that you look into Exanima. Even if you dont think it will make for a good video, i hope you enjoy it. I will buy it for you its 15 bucks on steam. Physics based top down 3d dungeon crawler, built from scratch by an autistic man to be basically a Tech demo (despite a fleshed out story game world and arena mode) for a much larger game that may never come out given the scope of the project and how much work the game requires. This 15 dollar "tech demo" is a better game than 99% of what the "General Motors" of the video game industry can concieve of and its not even technically finished. I feel its qaulity ties into the themes of what you discussed in this most recent video and this team deserves support and attention. I can run this game pretty well on my fucking Nvidia 745 and 8 gigs of ram, so i garentee it will function for your machine. Just wanted to bring this game to your attention, even if you decide to do a video for a different game. Its nothing like you've ever played. Love you man, keep on doing what you do.

2025-05-31 22:42:31 +0000 UTCThank you so much for calling out Microsoft’s BS. It’s not only the gaming space where this company fucks its customers sideways. I work in IT. With cloud infrastructure, to be more specific. And because Amazon and their schizoid naming conventions for AWS resources can suck the GFuel out of my unwashed gamer balls, I made the huge mistake of working for an employer who runs everything on Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure. And there it is the same fucking story. They only deliver bugged, badly documented features and the general design philosophy is best explained by telling you to image this: every time they don't know what to do, they throw 2000 crack addicted rabbits into a room full of keyboards that are hooked up to chatGPT. After a few hours they check on which keyboard the most dead, overdosed rabbits piled up and the responses to this keyboard will be chosen as the right way to go. Fuck them.

2025-05-31 21:54:19 +0000 UTCfor the love of god i hope that you do a SOMA video. the game is to this day the only one that sent me on an existential crisis for a week straight after. it is to this day one of only three games i recommend everyone to play once. it understands perfectly how to utilize the gaming medium to tell a story. it also knows how to leave you thinking about their story for years to come. also i think you will 100% enjoy making an essay for it.

2025-05-31 19:11:29 +0000 UTCYou might enjoy Kenshi, it can be incredibly grindy, and the combat is an auto fighter basically, but the larger scale design is just so good. The atmosphere is superb, it's exploration is also really good, it does this thing where, 2 thirds of the places you find kinda suck, but that remaining third has enough resources to finance 5 other trips, which I think really fits into the desolate, ruined world vibe it's going with. The world-building is also excellent, I'm not gonna spoil the interesting stuff, but even basic post apocalyptic factions, like the hypercapitalist slave empire is enhanced and made interesting that it's never pointed out to you that they are that, you can just walk into one of their cities and be like "Oh they got some nice weapons here" and piss off. It's not like hidden that they suck, but you still have to engage with it on some level to you, even just by the fact that you need to go and find it (there's no main quest, you can just mine copper north of the starting area for the entire game, and that's a completely valid way to play, it's pretty god money too with a sufficient work force). It's very show don't tell basically. Also not a game, but if you want a show recommendation, watch Scavenger's reign, it has the most interesting alien ecosystem I ever saw on TV

2025-05-31 19:06:06 +0000 UTCDisappointed that you didn't stick with it to be able to talk about the game in itself fully, but at the same time, I have no idea what you could even say. I finished it, and I had fun, but it was definitely MISSING something. I think you hit the nail on the head with the fact that it takes itself too seriously. If you haven't seen it, watch Maxor's Doom Eternal 'review' on YouTube for a good time and a perfect encapsulation of why Eternal just felt so damn good.

2025-05-31 17:54:58 +0000 UTCI know that you're a fan of not only doom, but games which also share its DNA, like Half-Life. Selaco is built on GZDoom and it feels tailor made for exactly this type of person (I am also this kind of person). I don't know that you'll find much to talk about for a video, but it IS quite fun. It's got a female protagonist, but she doesn't suffer from the same kind of design philosophy that birthed Quiet, thankfully.

2025-05-31 17:37:43 +0000 UTCRecommending you a game might be difficult since I only know you play FPS games and I mostly play RPGs but alright I guess. You liked Hardspace: Shipbreaker so I imagine you've been recommended Citizen Sleeper a bunch but I might as well throw out one more. Great game, you play an escaped robot slave with someone's copied consciousness and have to work on a spaceship to afford food and medicine for yourself. Loved it. You might also like Pyre, it's not really sci fi or anything but it deals with a lot of higher themes like individualism and self sacrifice and is (funnily enough) a sports game. Va-11 Hall-A is generally a really strong cyberpunk visual novel, my friends adore it and I had a lot of fun with the hour I've put into it. Robo-Quest is a really light and fun sci fi roguelike FPS game. It's cheap but has a lot of content within it so you'd definitely get your money's worth out of it. Long Gone Days is a game about war and the people within, that might resonate with you but it's a turn based RPG so your mileage may vary. Pathologic 2 is an easy recommend, it'll bust your balls and is a miserable experience but you seem to enjoy those generally speaking. Anything else I could recommend you is a harder sell since I can't imagine you like turn based stuff that much but I hope at least one of these appeals to you EDIT: Apologies if this comes across as really parasocial
