ACE OF BEASTS #2 pages 13, 14, 15, 27, 28

I'm working on finishing the sketches and inking for the last pages of ACE OF BEASTS #2! If the poll goes as it is right now, it will be the print book for February {:^> (either way, all 4 print comic books I'm working on at the moment are being printed within weeks of each other, I'm just pushing myself to finish one of them before the others ;^>)

The end of this single issue has a scene of Osric transforming into his wyvern form, symbolized by images of him with swords, a crown, a fire poker, and other imagery surrounding the 'wound' that 'chose' his form becoming a raging dragon. Pages 27 and 28 are showing this, and Xerxes and Ramzi will get scenes like this as well.

They are both hints as to their 'inner wounds' that 'chose' their monster forms, and they are summaries of their character arcs: Xerxes must learn to speak for his own wishes and not to 'lose his head' over being in the Sect of Strato; Ramzi must learn not to simply drift along unseen, as if in a smokescreen, through his life without his own purpose; and Osric must learn to temper a heart overflowing with fire and rage and make peace with his inner self / forgive himself for his past.

There is an interesting case with Ravi, as he doesn't have a transformation sequence in the story and seems to be immune to the djinni curse. Is it the Strato marking's magic coursing through him? Only time will tell what happened to him in the Sect that could offer a clue...

I will be posting more pages as I ink them and work on them. Thanks so much for reading - these will all be colored for print of course ;^>
