Break Slicing Techniques - Gate to Tempo

I'm back again with my monthly blog post and today we'll be talking about another one of my favourite break-slicing techniques - The mystical Gate to Tempo Technique. 🌔
Whilst I didn't invent this technique by any means, I did come up with a name for it so that's something I guess! 😊
This is one of my favourite break-warping techniques with loads of amazing creative possibilities. It essentially involves making a midi groove template from your break and then warping that to your BPM. This then gives you the ability to change your BPM, tune the break-up and down and control the decay of the hits with an ADSR envelope and the break will still retain its groove! It's amazing when you start to manipulate all this stuff live!

Andy, who some of you will probably recognise as darlo from the discord has a really cool implementation of this technique in Bitwig combining it with Redux which we will save for another day!
