“And there you have it! The Winter Wolf has cleared yet another Centurion Boss Floor!!” Mikaela shouts, his voice echoing throughout the viewing room as cheers resound from the quadrillions of people watching all over the universe. Meanwhile the main screen at the center of the viewing room shows The Winter Wolf panting in exhaustion above the defeated and gradually fading body of the Progenitor of Luck, Fortuna. “He has defeated another Progenitor clone and cleared the six hundredth floor of the Beta Dungeon after five entire years in the dungeon!”
And just like when Loki was in the viewing room, Fortuna appears with a bout of laughter and her hands on her hips. The progenitor having enjoyed the battle more than anyone else.
Something Mikaela is more than a little aware of thanks to her repeatedly appearing in the viewing room and joining him in his commentating.
But unlike Loki, she doesn’t prank Mikaela and is a much better commentator.
In fact, she may be better at commentating than Mikaela himself.
Mikaela turns to look at Fortuna again, taking in her beautiful appearance one last time. Since he probably won’t be able to do it again now that her clone has been defeated.
He highly doubt she’ll continue coming to his viewing room after this after all.
The Progenitor of Luck’s appearance is just like what one would expect from an angel. She has glowing golden eyes, pure white angelic wings, and a beautiful figure, and a youthful yet still mature face. Yet she’s wearing perfectly modest clothing in all white without a speck of any other color besides gold.
If there’s one thing that sets her apart from an angel, it’s that she has rapidly changing numbers shining in her eyes instead of pupils. But other than that, she fits the perfect description of an angel in his and a lot of peoples’ minds.
And even after her clone was defeated in the Beta Dungeon, her appearance doesn’t change. Meaning it’s genuinely her true appearance.
Mikaela’s already heard about a vast number of fan clubs appearing all across the universe idolizing the progenitor despite this being Grim’s universe. And Fortuna even fits the description of an idol thanks to her happy-go-lucky personality which is clearly shown now as she goes around thanking the crowd for watching the show.
Just the sight of her going around waving at the viewers makes Mikaela’s heart feel warmer. Mostly because of the comparison between her and Loki.
Mikaela feels a chill run down his spine as he remembers Loki constantly messing with him and everyone else. Terrifying him over and over again only for it to be a prank.
But when someone has that much power, even if it’s know that it’s a prank, it’s still hard to ignore. To not feel terrified.
“It’s been a wonderful time commentating with you, little Mike!” Fortuna says after approaching Mikaela, calling him by a nickname she made for him with a smile on her face. Then she reaches her hand out for a handshake, “I hope we can continue this little relationship, because I’ve found commentating on the pup to be fun!”
Mikaela finds his eyes widening in shock, then joy at that. Because it means she’s going to continue working with him.
“Of course!” Mikaela says with a grin while reaching out to accept her handshake. “Drop by anytime!”
Fortuna giggles before turning to face the screen with her hands on her hips again as she says, “Now! Let us see what lovely rewards the little pup got from beating my poor clone to a pulp!”
Her words has Mikaela chuckling. Especially when he thinks about how much trouble The Winter Wolf went through just to fight her clone.
After all, the Progenitor of Luck isn’t just a title. Throughout the battle, he kept having his luck drained more and more, making every last possible misfortune happen to him every time the chance came. Over and over again.
His skills would fizzle out if they could. He would miss because of some random spatial quake that normally wouldn’t happen even once in a million years. Or he would suddenly get a flood of System Error messages, each of which rarely ever appear.
There was even a time when Fortuna used a random teleport skill on him and it teleported him directly into the line of several of her attacks that she sent flying.
The only reason The Winter Wolf still came out on top after all of it is because Fortuna is his ally and isn’t genuinely trying to kill him.
From what Mikaela has heard, all Fortuna wanted to do was to test his luck and mess with him for a bit. Nothing more.
She even purposefully gave him items throughout the ten floors of her Centurion Floor Theme to decrease her luck over the course of the battle.
Because Fortuna is far too lucky.
If there’s one thing Mikaela has learned about Fortuna so far, it’s that everything always goes her way.
Always.
No matter what it is, it will always go her way.
It’s like a law of the universe.
Mikaela just counts himself and the rest of the multiverse as lucky that Fortuna herself is just a kind, albeit eccentric and playful girl at heart. And that she isn’t evil like the Progenitor of Void, or the Progenitor of Fire.
Otherwise the multiverse would be in danger.
Then again, what Progenitor isn’t dangerous?
Mikaela shakes his head at the thought before continuing to commentate himself, “Do you really need to ask that when you’re the one giving him rewards?”
Fortuna just giggles while putting a single finger up to her lips in a shushing gesture, making Mikaela chuckle again. And he isn’t the only one as the audience laughs as well. Enjoying their back and forth as always.
But even they go silent when The Winter Wolf finally begins to approach the Centurion Boss Chest that appeared the moment he defeated the Progenitor of Luck.
Because it’s time for loot, and everyone knows that loot is one of the most important things in dungeons.
