Super cool episode. Mom was great. Don't remember lard in our house, but I sure remember Crisco. I switched to butter from margarine years ago and went back to regular soda instead of diet. Kept reading about all those chemicals. Fresh plums! My grandmother had a plum tree in her back yard and we used to pick up the ripe ones off the ground and eat them in the summer. Great memories. She made plum jelly too! Thanksgiving confession: I use Stove Top.
