First month conclusion.

Long story short? Not quite my tempo.Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for every patron, for every comment and for every dollar, but right now the amount of financial support is not enough. I didn't expect to collect 1k$+ from my first month, but I didn't expect  29$ either, something like 50-100 $ would be perfect, but here we are. Why am I saying all of this? I would like to know your opinion and advise of what shall be done to increase the support.  One of the things I plan - next updates will be for patrons

only

so if you are reading this and you still not a patron- you better be, if you want next build. 3$ is not that much.

Strawpol results. Looks like incest option is way ahead of any else. I plan to keep voting for one week, but I don't think that things will change much. Expect winner to be added in a next build that will happen  in a 2-4 weeks.

Stay tuned and as always thank You for your support.

Нot discussion !!! both right. Require Money - a futile exercise. Support can win a quality product, and you can get a marvelous game. All preconditions for it. Work hard and create, and we will help you and support you.

First of all- do you have any idea how expensive is to commission art? If no, go check the prices and do a simple math. Right now I'm wasting all of the campaign money AND my own to make this thing work. I'm not getting a single penny profit from it. So your sentence is offensive. Second- it is also easy to ban whoever share the game. I'm not the first who made this kind of rewards and anyone can see that they do work. Most of the people don't see a single reason to support if they can get the same benefits for free. Third- your comment have no advise/help and that is something I asked for here . Fourth- I made this post not to "grab cash". I made this post because I will be soon out of my own money to spent on this game. So I asked patrons for advise and to help me advertise this campaign. But of course you are welcome to think whatever you want.

Winterlook

I also found it a bit pushy speaking about the money on the first month, people won't trust you as Yotix explained why, the thing is you must also gain people's trust to get them to support you, going at it like "You better give me cash or no build for you" doesn't really make people throw their money at you but only make them annoyed. As most of the potential backers wait and follow the progress, putting a "not quite my tempo" meme and kinda threatening the people to slow down or even abandon the project only makes you lose your potential backers as they would think this'll be just another abandonware. As for the free builds, actually I think the ones who implemented a full or semi-free system (with giving the patrons special builds or giving them the access of original build sooner) gain more support than those who doesn't. You must realize that your supporters doesn't pay you money just to access the game, trust me you have no idea how easy to find a patreon game build on internet. People will support you when they think it's a good project and It won't be just another abondonware. Money isn't everything to keep the project going as we saw many high earning projects left incomplete on the hands of greedy people.

Hello. a) I know, it was my first attempt at writing and I will fix that. b) Screenshots are on the forums where I advertise the game. c)I know and my community helps me with a good moral support. d) 1) I already made 2 free updates. 2) Your example is not the same because you are enjoying a product and give nothing in return. 3) By "not that much" I meant that there are projects that makes you pay 5-10 $ per build. 4) How else will I encourage patrons? They will see no sense in a support if everyone get builds for free. Thank you for your comment and opinion!

Winterlook

a) You might want to proof-read your intro text on this page. Some people are turned off by bad writing and typos. Example: Each 12 years orc's atack your homeland and each time it has enough forces only to protect but never to strike back. ("Each" should be "every", "orc's" should be "orcs", "atack" should be "attack", it's unclear what "it" refers to, basically you need to re-do the sentence) b) Maybe add some more screenshots here. I'd, for example, very much like to be able to guess at how big the game is before I decide to pay to see more. (That's because I wasted money to support and download what claimed to be a full game, but doesn't have enough content to fill a demo.) c) It's become more difficult to raise money for early-access and Patreon titles due to many users' bad experiences. One of the biggest Patreon projects was some animal farm porn game, they seem to have played "grab the money and run" without finishing the game. Similarly, players of other pay-in-advance games like Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, Spacebase DF-9 are now pissed off at the lack of depth in or, in the case of DoubleFine, the studio giving everyone the middle finger ("that game's not making enough money for us, thanks for your cash but we won't be fixing any more problems or adding new stuff"). I'd suggest that you should be patient, keep discussing the game on Loverslab and other platforms, keep free versions available - and try not to let your frustration show too much if you don't immediately succeed in making lots of money. I know several people who used to support Dozens of Kickstarter, Patreon and Steam Greenlight titles ... and stopped due to all the fraud, false promises and abandonware. d) Sentences like this "only so if you are reading this and you still not a patron- you better be, if you want next build. 3$ is not that much. " make it VERY unlikely that I'll ever want to try a product from that person. Imagine someone at MacDonald's telling you you to get the fuck out of his restaurant unless you buy the Big Mac, because hey, it's not that expensive and they need the money. Also your sentence contains grammar errors.

Well, I have a post on fenoxo forum and on the ulmf forum(thanks to Spooky). If you know any other sites where I can advertise it- I'm more than willing to listen!

Winterlook

To be fair its not advertised at all I only saw it in some gheto forum post where some one rounded up every free version they could find on the net and put it on rapid gator to make a few bucks otherwise I would have never heard of this.

Zal

Thank you very much! You are actually the first one to compliment my writing and I'm touched!

Winterlook

New Patreon here! Loved your writing style and the game overall! Honestly? You should have more patreons given the game you are making!!

Thank you very much and welcome aboard!

Winterlook

There. Closer to your goal. Just discovered this yesterday and so far it's great. Can't wait for next update! Hang in there!

Galamuth

Thank you for your opinnion! I will take a note or two.

Winterlook

I will try to give my opinnion and hope it helps. First of all the marketing is important, many people forget how useful can be to make a trailer or a short video about the game, at first it may seem as a waste of time or money but it serves a lot when you try to gain supporters. Another thing is that in the end people don't have enough knowledge about this game, plans of future, level of interaction, if it will have combat... there are too many things that are in the air and that the builds for now can't answer. There are many more points that could be better but i don't want to do a reply that is too long

I'm not sure. It have like 15k downloads on svcomics and 5k views on fenoxo forum. But yeah, I will try to advertise it somewhere else too.

Winterlook

Your english is fine, nothing to apologise for.

Winterlook

sorry for my English:))

basil

I agree with Spooky. Good game, but not enough advertising.

basil

Yes,I am ok with you making a post. Thanks!

Winterlook

Have you considered promoting your game on sites like shark's lagoon? I am happy to put up a post for you on there, if you are ok with it.
