Rachel pressed her palms to the cold windowpane, her breath blooming across the glass in quick, frantic bursts.
"Okay. Okay. This is bad. This is really bad. I'm growing. Why am I growing?"
Her hips slammed into the far wall with a dull, resonant thud. The drywall groaned. She tried shifting her weight, tried crouching, but her body kept rising inch after inch. Her thighs slid higher against the window frame, the room shrinking around her as her curves pushed outward.
"No, no, no! I'm getting too big!" she gasped.
The ceiling brushed her shoulder. Then pressed. Then bowed.
Heat surged through her again, stronger than before. Her knees were forced upward, her back wedged into the rafters as a crack split overhead.
"Someone… please… it’s not stopping!" Rachel cried, her voice trembling as she struggled against the confines of her own home. "I'm too big!"
