Trying to figure out if that's a reference to The Expanse at the start there :p There is an answer to the end because Nolan has come out and said what it is, though I'm not gonna spoil it in case somebody doesn't want to know (including you guys) but it's a google search away for the definitive answer - though I'll say this about the kids because it doesn't matter either way; he'll have seen up-to-date photos and things and his subconscious wouldn't have struggled to fill that blank, also it's a movie, whatcha gonna do? The grandfather was already going back to the US which is why he left gifts with him earlier. But yeah Chris Nolan is being a bad man at the end there doing inception on the audience. Most of Norlans movies are well worth seeing on an imax screen in 70mm and this is no exception - most Imax cinemas show this now and then and it's a whole different experience, strongly recomended if you're near one (proper Imax, not the pretend ones - 70mm or GT Laser).
