Hollywood What If Chapter 178-- Root B

[Author's Note: Based on what I see, you don't want a redemption arc. But you want to tone down their craziness. It's okay, I'll try to do that. Rereading this chapter, I realized that I have a lot of pronounce mistakes.]

"Mommy! Mommy! MOMMY!"

Mara Cohen screamed as she went to the pool. She was a spoiled child who was very childish. She was holding a newspaper, gripping it in anger. 

She screamed like a young child. Because of too much anger, she bumped the table and it fell down. Mara Cohen clicked her tongue but didn't bother fixing it. 

"Honey, what are you doing? Are you okay?"

Eliza Cohen was relaxing in the pool with her martini, in the middle of the day. She was clearly having a good life. 

This mansion that she was living in was from her third husband. That person was rich and gave her half of his property. Eliza Cohen was now a millionaire even though she didn't work hard for it. 

"Shenna, go and clean the mess."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Eliza ordered one of her maids that she hired from overseas. These overseas workers were very good at their job and their salary was very cheap. 

She only had to pay 400 dollars for each maid and they didn't even have a problem with it. For these overseas workers, that amount was already huge. 

'Sometimes, I remember that America is actually a better country than the most.'

For a woman like Eliza Cohen who took advantage of others, these things were not important. 

"Mommy! Why is this happening? This is unfair! Why? I worked hard too!"

"Oh, honey. You have to calm down, okay?"

Mara angry and dissapointed. She was walking in circles, clearly frustrated. 

"Mommy! You said that I'm going to be a star! That I will be the most beautiful star in this planet!"

"Of course honey. Just like your Mom, you are beautiful. I believe everyone knew that. Isn't that right? Shenna?"

"Ma'am? A yes, you are beautiful and Miss Mara is beautiful as well. You are both beautiful."

The maid, Shenna, was not lying. Her employee and daughter were indeed beautiful. They were like angels, although Shenna knew that angels were not real. The personalities of her employer and daughter were not that of angels as well. 

"Fufu, I like your answer and I can see that you are not lying."

"Thanks, Ma'am."

The maid wanted to leave this mansion and returned to her country but she needed to feed her family. Besides, the salary here was better than her own country. 

Shenna started fixing the table that fell down. 

"Anyway, your accent is not that good, I don't like it. I recommend you to practice English more. Better yet, don't speak at all."

Eliza Cohen muttered. 

Shenna nodded and silently cleaned the mess that Mara Cohen had made.

"Honey, why are you mad? Who did this to you?"

"This! Look at this newspaper! That woman! She stole my role! It's all her fault!"

The shy Mara Cohen whom Kazir met last year was nothing but a fake persona. Perhaps Kazir dodged a bullet by cutting his relationship with his mother. Because truthfully, his half-sister was not an innocent girl at all. 

"Aww, let me take a look at the newspaper you're holding."

Mara Cohen gave the newspaper to her mother. Mara was fuming in anger when she read the article earlier. 

The highest-grossing movies domestically in 1998 were:

1.) Titanic-- 488 million dollars. 

2.) The Hangover Part 2-- 254 million dollars. 

3.) Armageddon-- 198 million dollars. 

4.) Saving Private Ryan-- 190 million dollars. 

5.) There's Something About Mary-- 174 million dollars.

6.) The Waterboy-- 147 million dollars. 

7.) Doctor Dolittle-- 144 million dollars. 

8.) Deep Impact-- 140 million dollars. 

9.) Godzilla-- 136 million dollars.

10.) Rush Hour-- 136 million dollars. 

These ten movies were the highest-grossing of last year.

Titanic was very impressive, the movie already surpassed 1 billion dollars and everyone knew why the movie was number 1 this year. 

As for The Hangover Part 2, this movie was distributed by Warner Bros. Eliza Cohen pursed her lips about this movie. After all, the scriptwriter of this movie was her son, Kazir Grey. 

In fact, everyone believes that the success of The Hangover Part 2 was because of the creativity that Kazir Grey had. For that, Eliza Cohen was proud. She believed that her son inherited all of his good sides from her.  

"Mom! Deep Impact is part of the top ten highest-grossing movies this year!"

The worldwide box office of Deep Impact was $349 million. It was an obvious success. 

However, Mara Cohen was not happy because of it. 

Mara Cohen actually auditioned for a role in this movie. The role she was striving to get was Sarah Hotchner, she was Leo Biederman's girlfriend. 

Leo Biederman was the teenager who discovered that a comet was going to hit the Earth. 

Even though Sarah Hotchner didn't have many scenes, it was still an impactful role. 

Unfortunately, someone stole the role from her! It was none other than Scarlett Johansson! 

Because of that, Mara Cohen hoped that the Deep Impact would flop and everyone in the cast would be heart broken. 

Actually, Mara Cohen auditioned for the role but she never passed the 2nd round. She was immediately rejected because she didn't have any sense of acting ability. 

Indeed, Mara Cohen was beautiful, but she was stiff in front of the camera. Her facial expressions were forced and bleak! The best she could get were vase roles. A background role that only appear in the background to make the scene beautiful! 

"I hate the casting director! That role should have been mine! Mine! I can't believe it!"

Because of that, she had a grudge against Scarlett Johansson...
