Doesn’t have to have dogs in it at all, can be Owner!Will in the lobby with New Customer!Hannibal. Or even Dog Trainer!Will. I really love how much he loves dogs, okay, and I work at a dog daycare and all I can ever think about is how dogs should be loved by people who would die for them. I’m really emotional about dogs okay?
My headcanon is that Mischa lived and gave Hannibal a puppy because she was worried he was lonely and also that he'd start eating people for real and not just joking about it a lot (a LOT) and Hannibal is fine with it because Laima LOVES him and hates everyone else and is very quiet and dignified and suits his public persona perfectly.

2019-02-07 23:57:18 +0000 UTCAlso good choice for Hannibal’s puppy. Whippets are very expensive and look all designer and chic but they are fucking weird and cute and dumb sometimes! I met a guy at a dog park whose whippet would run around and then sprint to him and jump into his arms. He called her his cat. I’ve walked two whippets before that were calm and sweet when you put the leashes on them but the moment you walk them, they get tangled around every sign, tree, and lamp post and be confused how that happened, attempt to undo it, and make it worse. They also bounced on each other’s backs when they waited for me to open the baby gate to let them out. I never knew if they knew they weren’t allowed to go past it without permission or if they were dumb and didn’t think they could jump a toddler tall gate. I also walked a mastiff named Tinkerbelle who was TERRIFIED of the baby gate. The owners would put her in their office while they were at work and PROP the gate against the doorway. It would slide down sometimes and this giant dog would still never go near it because it made a loud flattering sound when it fell. Same dog that saved me from getting attacked by a stray Shepherd on our walk. Dogs are dumb and I love them!

Particularly because I have this idea that Laima is literally this perfect princess of a dog and she like willfully ignores everyone except Hannibal......and then the second she catches sight of will she trips over her own 4 feet to snuggle him and demand belly rubs. And she cries for his attentions constantly when he’s in eyesight but not touching her.
