Photoset - Black and White Glamour
Added 2024-08-05 08:00:04 +0000 UTCA while back Tayla asked if we could do a black and white set with a glamour vibe, and obviously I wasn't going to say no. When I first started shooting with Tayla she had only done a few shoots, and even though she rarely shoot with anyone but me it is great to see how her confidence has grown over the couple of years I have known her.
There are two reasons she generally won't shoot with anyone else... the first is lack of time. She has big plans and is working all hours in order to achieve them. And secondly, she went through a period of a month some time ago where she had three bad experiences on shoots. Nothing very serious fortunately, just guys with cameras being creeps and trying to push her levels. And as we have built up a good friendship and we trust each other, she quite rightly says that if she needs any images in a specific style then she knows where to come!
In fact, Tayla pushed me right out of my comfort zone on Thursday, as I travelled down to a studio on the south coast to photograph behind-the-scenes images of her and two other dancers for a project she is working on. They had a videographer and I was there just to capture them whilst they were dancing and being filmed, so it was pretty much like liver concert photography, something I have never done before. But I am relieved to say she is in love with the images I managed to capture!

Thank you for taking the stime to write such a long and detailed comment. There are some great ideas in here that will help me keep things fresh on here. I'm trying to get better at getting bts footage during my shoots, but more often that not I end up forgetting as I get so engrossed in shooting. I don't appear in the bts videos though - due to my part-time teaching job I have to keep my photography life anonymous, if that makes sense? I think a "diary of a shoot day" is a cracking idea and I'll definitely do something like this.

I love the write-ups; it's really inspiring to hear about Tayla's growth and how she's overcome challenges to continue pursuing her passion for modeling. It's also impressive that she's encouraged you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. I'm curious to see the behind-the-scenes images you captured—I bet they're incredible! Patreon seems like a great platform for sharing things you might not post elsewhere. It must be tough to sift through hundreds of images to find the few that are worthy of post-processing. Could you do a bit of a photo dump with some of the RAW images that didn’t make the cut? It would be great to see what goes into these shoots, maybe even a video. Also, could you include a write-up of what happens on the day of a shoot? How long does it take, how many shots do you take, and how many costumes do you typically use? It would be great to see some more candid moments with Tayla—be fun to see the fun! 😁
