Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing my next location as I map out the town of Saltmarsh: The Dwarven Anvil!
This 30x20 map features the large blacksmith/workshop in the center, along with some additional buildings, such as a storage shed and the cottage where the owner and her son/apprentice live. Under the eaves of the cottage is the (somewhat) neglected shrine to Moradin, the deity of creation known also as "The Soul Forger" or "The Dwarffather."
Above the fires of the forge, you will find the inscription: "Iron Bends While Honor Holds," which are words that the original creators carved. Even though this forge is used to make nails, fishing hooks, harpoons, and horseshoes, the craft is still given the same love and care as forging the mightiest weapons and sturdiest armor.
In the center of the workshop, you will find a sturdy anvil made by the Dwarves. Some of the local Dwarves are curious to know how a human came to obtain such an exemplary anvil of Dwarven creation and might even hire your adventures to investigate.
As the wagons pass by the streets, you will find a job board full of pending orders this backed-up forge is being asked to create. A never-ending list of work is good for income, but most will have to wait patiently or at least pay top coin to push their orders to the front of the line. To the right of the map, you will find a small storage shed where the tools are locked up, and iron ingots are secured for the night when the forge fires are unlit.
Between the storage shed and blacksmith, a covered section of road allows wagons to pull up to be loaded with orders or unloaded with goods and supplies to keep the forge going.
Up the stairs to the left of the map, you will find the neglected shrine of Moradin, now tarnished and oxidized, but candles still show the owner pays this diety hommage, even if she is not of the Dwarves.
Affixed to the shrine is the cottage where the owner, Mafera, lives with her son and best apprentice in modest accommodations.

Well, that puts a lid on November! I know many of us here in the US will be enjoying some time with our families this upcoming Thursday, and I wish everyone a happy and safe Turkey Day!
For my upcoming projects in December, I will create my first Vallaki map with my updated assets, starting with the eastern gate! I'm so excited to be back in Vallaki, and I hope I can do this prime location justice. Additionally, I'll be working on the next in the Reloaded series featuring the Village of Barovia town square.
On the Saltmarsh front, I'll be working on the Fishmongers' Plant as I continue to map out all of the town's locations.
I know the next month will be crazy for most of us, so I wish you all the best as you travel to see family, meet up with friends, and celebrate in your own way. I am personally looking forward to my wife's stew she makes each year in Dec and spending time with my friends and family, and maybe even getting a game in or five!!
Thanks as always for your continued support of my craft. Well wishes to you all!
Cheers,
DM Andy
