I really like Ellie's pose, the way she's got her hands in the pockets of her jacket, with her hips cocked to her right and her head tilted in the same direction. She looks like she's striking a pose for the camera, almost as if she's a model doing a photo shoot. But my absolute favorite thing about this image is Ellie's breath. I love seeing that fog of frozen vapor drifting from her parted lips and mingling with the snowflakes that are slowly falling around her. The effect is visually stunning, but it also, and pardon the pun, breathes life into the image.
This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL works of art I've ever seen! Excellent work, my friend! :)

As much as I love the setting, the real star of the image is Ellie. She looks so cute in her winter gear, several layers of clothing wrapped around her in an effort to keep her warm. I especially like her winter coat, because it reminds me of my own winter coat. I could be mistaken, but I think she's wearing an old military jacket. Mine is from the 1950s, and I absolutely love it. I suspect hers is probably much newer, though. Still, it looks amazing on her.

I also love how the trees almost seem slightly out of focus, which I attribute to the snow that's gently falling. Even the sky is beautiful, even though its overcast and a bit gray and the sunlight has to struggle to pierce the canopy of clouds in order to provide a gentle illumination. There may also be the snowy peaks of mountains behind Ellie, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

I love the composition of the image, the layering of different elements. The snowdrifts look very natural and realistic. I can practically see the fresh layer of snow being gently blown and shaped by the wind, while the snow from previous snowfalls becomes more compact and even hard, allowing for the classic crunching of snow beneath Ellie's feet as she traverses this winter landscape. The trees are stunning. I love how they frame the image and more specifically Ellie, rising up on either side of her in the background. The shape of the trees and the sparseness of their foliage speaks to the desolate nature of the area and of winter in general.

It's a winter wonderland. That's the first thought that popped into my head when I saw this image. This is a gorgeous winter scene, and it reminds me of the many winters I've lived through in my life. It also reminds me of the winter portion of the game. Although, this image is filled with nothing but beauty, whereas the winter portion of the game was filled with horrors and heartache. I much prefer this snapshot of what winter for Ellie could be.
