2021-09-10 14:20:07 +0000 UTCTbh I would have threw away the main plot of the season. But I wouldn't have let Deb die. I would have almost let her die. And maybe have one of the main cast members die like Angel and his sister. Deb would blame Dexter and tell him to leave. Then it would show Dexter riding into the hurricane after being rejected from Deb. He turns up missing never to be found. Then Fast forward to Dexter years later with Hannah and Harrison in Argentina. He stopped killing for a few years and is in control. Also maybe it could of shown Deb years later on a boat with Quinn looking at the sea and appearing to miss Dexter. At the end of episode it shows Dexter finds out Harrison does indeed have a dark passenger and Dexter realizing he now has to teach his son the code. That's what I think would have been a more satisfying ending at the top of my head leading off the season 8 story. No lumberjacking necessary!!

I actually don't mind the ending, maybe with Dexter feeling responsible for Debra's death he brought her out to sea to end it where it started.

2021-09-10 01:59:31 +0000 UTCAwww, was hoping you'd react to the trailer for the new one as well... I had a head image of how I'd do the final season at the end of Season 7. In mine, Dexter finally gets arrested after they look at him harder after Maria's death and the season would be about Dexter getting the ones who escaped his table while behind bars with them. And end with his execution. He'd take the wrap for Maria's death to protect Deb. Deb raised Harrison with her father's code after learning he's like Dexter. 15 to 20 years later, a spin-off series called "Harrison". Maybe another in between the 2 called "Lumen", where some bad guys in her home city mess with her and reawaken her dark passenger. So she uses what she learned from Dexter to dispatch dark justice.

2021-09-09 23:30:51 +0000 UTCAll I know is that this new season 9 was made under the same showrunner(Clyde Phillips) that made Dexter GREAT from seasons 1 - 4. Not saying the rest of the seasons were bad...but just not on the same level as the first 4. After the original showrunner left, the series just went downhill IMO. The finale was just...SMH Just saw the new trailers for season 9 and i'm VERY hopeful!!

2021-09-09 21:21:54 +0000 UTCHearing all kinds of new theories on the new season, i am thinking since Harrison comes back, Trinity's son Jonah comes back and kills Dexter's son. It's at least a possibility because Jonah was never killed off. It's exciting and scary to think of all the possibilities it could go.

I hate how it ended but when you hear what originally was gonna happen (don’t find out it will probably happen new season) it sounds worse IMO. I love Deb but her dying felt like what was right. She cheated death so often that when it came it’s unbelievable and heart wrenching. Just like death is in real life. God doesn’t just take the old and dying! And her death led to Dexter believing he can’t be around anyone he loves because he’s a curse. And he’s not wrong 😂😂👍

They forgot how much people could project themselves onto Dexter, and if everything goes to shit there is still hope. They killed that hope by offing Deb and putting Dexter in the one place where he is surrounded by his biggest trauma: the sound of chainsaws. It felt like the writers were saying: this is what you get when you root for someone with a dark passenger. Thank God there is still a season 9, from what I've seen in the teaser they already made some very good decisions. The original showrunner will set things right, I'm sure of it. I want my Dexter cake and eat it!

He threw Deb in the ocean because he was as responsible for her death as he was for all the others. The only thing I liked about it was that he was alive so there could be more. The promising thing about the 10 new episodes is that Clyde Phillips (showrunner for the first 4 aclaimed seasons) is back with these new ones. Would love to see y'all react to some of the teasers. They are very short. 2021-09-09 19:58:44 +0000 UTCin one of the previous episodes Deb told Dexter not to let her be on life support, a bit of foreshadowing. I heard a theory that instead of Harry as his dark passenger in the upcoming season it will be Deb with him, they already confirmed she is coming back to the show so it seems to be true. I was really sad when they killed Deb here. Hated this ending, it was kind of stupid, it felt like it was thrown together in 1 day at the last minute. One thing I liked was how they made Deb look almost angelic in the flashback where she met Harrison as a baby the first time, it really hits different knowing she is dead seeing her light up like that and knowing she never gets to have kids. I'm hoping to see Lumen in the new season. I hope we don't have to deal with much Hannah or that she dies at least. Can't stand Hannah.
