It's a great book-to-screen adaptation of the 'All Souls' book trilogy by Devorah Harkness. It is very well written, acted, directed, and filmed. I think you would really enjoy it.

2024-11-22 14:20:02 +0000 UTCArcane s2 is such an awkward recommendation, it is by far the best show on the list however their s1 reactions man... the story never clicked for them, they couldn't get into it, they were new to reactions as a whole back then since it was one of the first shows they did on the channel , so sadly their s1 reactions were underwhelming, I'm sure if they reacted to s1 nowadays they would've enjoyed the story way more, but besides that, there are 2 other concerns: #1 Arcane season 2 is not something you can just jump into and slowly acclimate to it, s2e1 will start right where we left off and move really fast, so you need to have season 1 super fresh in mind or you'll find yourself lost immediately. #2 Similar point to before, many of the secondary/background characters of season 1 will have more timescreen now in season 2 so again you need to have all the characters of season 1 fresh in mind, and I don't think they have rewatched s1 offscreen? Because all of that, imo... to do the show justice they would have to re-watch or re-react to season 1 which by what suddenimpulse is saying they wouldn't have the time to do so which leave us in this awkward situation.

2024-11-22 07:01:14 +0000 UTCThere has been a lot of debate if it should be 1 season, 2 seasons or 4, its tricky because there are a number of variables they have to consider when doing a show. They only have so many slots and so much time and this is their sole income, if they have a show going on for multiple seasons that are underperforming in views it actually costs them money due to expenses like editing and stuff. I'd love for them to watch all 4 seasons but reality is there was a drop off in interest in the show after season 2, so it could be dodgey, and if it gets put on the long form poll it probably won't win for a few years frankly, based on how those have gone. Originally they settled on just season 1, then they settled on 1 and 2, now with this poll they are saying season 1 and maybe season 2 based on how it performs on the channel so I feel they probably don't have high confidence in its longevity. I don't have any pull on these decisions, this stuff is all 100% up to them so if you want to make the case for all 4 you gotta convince them of it. =)

Even better than the movies they've done, as far as quality goes. Which isn't really saying much cause they're movies and tv shows have sucked ass as of late, but still.

Maybe they will poll it again in the future but thats why its currently setup that way. It definitely is rough to wait each week for 1 episode with certain shows, but it allows more options/variety for folks that may not be interested in one of the short series winners.

They're long-form polls are pretty stacked already for the time being. Also try to keep in mind they aren't a huge channel, and this is their only source of income. They can't watch whatever they want like Blindwave or Normies, and if the show is long and doesn't get many views they are going to be in quite a pickle. Appreciate everyones enthusiasm, but try to keep in mind that this is their sole income and they can only do so much content at a time, have to balance risk+sustainability factor, etc.

Its a little more campy than I *usually* prefer in my media. I'm also admittedly kind of particular about my scifi or space oriented media (granted Firefly is a blended genre show). Expanse is much more up my alley in that regard. I'm not against them watching it, although I'm 50/50 in that I am not sure to what degree they would like it. Hard to guess. Also, its nice to hear you think so, but no, my opinion does not carry a lot of weight. If it did, I would't be losing out on reaction results so frequently lol. The voters throughout the community hold the weight, not any of us mods.

Don’t let the name and posters mislead you, it’s kind of an ominous sci-fi mystery, not what you’d expect. I just know S&P are the perfect audience for it 😭 definitely a show people seek out reactions for.

Would be interesting to see what they thought of it, and I think it would do the best performance wise. I think they'd like it considering how they like other things they've watched in the past.

Episodes are pretty short so it wouldn’t take forever to get through all the seasons. Just something I thought to mention as not many reactors have reacted to it and from what I’ve seen the series is pretty popular.

Mindhunter and Queens Gambit I'd be intersted in at a later date but a lot of slow-paced stuff is being watched lately, would like to get some more kinetic/actiony/higher pace stuff into the mix. You should consider Fargo season 1, they are standalone seasons and season 1 was quite popular and it has Billy Bob Thornton in it. A heads up on Firefly, it got canceled after 1 season and had a movie to wrap it up. I didn't care for it much myself but I know its a cult-favorite.

Its a sequel short series taking place years after the original novel, which btw was already adapted for the big screen by Zack Snyder, i dont know if you have seen it but since you guys are fans of 300 and the DCEU Batman i figured i mention this detail. Anyway the series is miles above the movie which was already pretty good except for one minor change to the original material. Its such an original crazy concept for a series on par with Westworld but i think this one was better writing, better characters, and just the plot is fucking insane.
