2024-07-08 10:07:26 +0000 UTCTbh I disagree. Cutting her hair is not that deep because it’ll grow back. You wear a hospital gown in hospitals and that’s not classified as a bad thing. The kidnapping and imprisonment thing is overblown. She’s a kid who doesn’t understand the severity of the situation. She wants to play with her friends and make out with Mike all day meanwhile Vecna is preparing to kill mankind. I also don’t think Brenner’s abusing her. She needs to reactivate her powers the same way she gained them, by going through those unique experiences. You’re caring too much about Elevens feelings and forgetting that mankind is at stake. I’m sure a little bit of trauma is worth saving billions of innocent people. With this mindset, everyone would be doomed.

What we see in this episode's flashback is a different gate, which El opened (and closed) to send Henry/001 to the upside down.

2024-06-25 04:08:46 +0000 UTCI mean....Pudgey's "grandpa" theory wasn't really that far off....it WAS a family member that was Vecna. back in episode 4, when we first see the Victor Creel backstory, he just explains that his wife died, then his daughter died, he was about to die but the music pulled him back. He quickly said his son slipped into a coma and died shortly after then the scene moves on to other plot points and kinda glossed over that.

2024-06-24 19:52:32 +0000 UTCThey definitely played around with the numbers here, 1 and 11, but aside from that, I always saw it as just trial and error, a natural mutation. It was bound to happen that someone as strong as 1 comes around, and what they hoped for was someone without the sociopathic tendencies and easier to control because they controlled everything from day 1 on. That boy was damaged goods; he had to start over. Vecna stated that they (his victims) are still with him, which kind of sounds like he might be getting stronger with more victims. I could see that. Eleven, on the other hand, taps into both sides: love and anger. At least that is how I see the scenes with her mother. She tapped into her own birth to get the full impact of her love and of the anger by taking her away in an instant. Maybe its still only the anger that feeds her power, but standing up against evil and for the good/love motivates her.

Conversely Vecna has to prey on vulnerable traumatized minds over a few days just to open a small gate.

I couldn’t believe it the first time I watched it, how they had managed to circle back and tie everything back to season 1 so seamlessly without making it too obvious that that’s what they were doing. 2024-06-24 05:35:47 +0000 UTCI think 001's reference Spartan brought up where he sees Dr. Brenner and says to 011 that he was back to where he started with doctors who want to control him, was because of his Mom reaching out to psychiatrists and mental health hospitals because she saw something was going on with her son. He felt people around him were trying to control his true nature and that in the end, they weren't that perfect themselves. Great reaction as always and it's so fun seeing you guys love this series! Sad it's coming to an end.

And from an in lore standpoint everyone including 1 himself has told her that she is more powerful. And from a logical standpoint the more they do the experiment the better they would get at it. With that said you’re right that she does use love and goodness at her strongest. I think it’s both. Like 1 can invade the mind and tear it apart, but el can shoot people through another dimension

To me it looks like the standard trope of fueling your power from anger and fear and sadness is strong, but fueling it with love is even stronger. They made a point of 01 telling 11 to use memories that angered, scared, or saddened her and in a 1v1 match with this method, 11 is strong, but 01 is far more practiced and stronger. But they show us that scene of her being born and the first words she hears are her mother saying "I love you" and as always love trumps hatred in the end. You see it in shows/tv a lot. Harry Potter touched on it a bit in the Goblet of Fire and Prisoner of Azkaban. I am absolutely blanking on other specific examples right now lol only other thing that comes to mind for some reason is Twitches of all things LOL And to be clear, I love the trope haha its cheesy but man it hits home.

The season 1 gate opens because Ellen’s fear of seeing the demogorgon meant she lost control of her psychic powers and created a very powerful psychic wave that creates the gate Secondly, you still say the massacre at the lab happened the same night Will disappeared which is not the case.

She didn't just kill her enemy; she opened a portal to a different dimension, banished him to that dimension, mangled him inside that new dimension, and closed the gate afterwards. It allowed most of the audience to watch the bulk of the season at their own paces some Quick some not so quick and then everyone was ready for the 2 final episodes together and everyone was talking about it. I don’t know if I I’m allowed to give spoilers on here, so I can’t fully correct you, but know that the gate Eleven created here is not the gate from season 1 and 2.

Now, I wish I had a friend like Dustin, so smart, so loyal, a real troop. Joyce and Murray came in clutch, that reunion was so nice, Hop needed that moment. The way we all thought Steve was going to get stuck and in the end it was Nancy...Steve being a king, Erika getting a flat tire, the connection to the first season, seeing how Will was able to communicate with Joyce, so much to comment on this episode that i would never end. I just love everything in this episode. Even the demogorgon was amazing 😅. Great reaction, I hope Spartan is feeling better and Pudgey you were very close, your theories were well thought. I can't wait for the next one. Lots of love ❤️❤️ PS: i do want Steve and Nancy together now, i love jonathan but my dear Steve deserves the love he wants.

Which implies that the massacre at Hawkins lab happened the night of Will’s disappearance. " We know for a fact that is not the case. We know Will banished November 6, 1983. And from the tape Brenner pulled for the Nina Project we know the Massacre at Hawking's Lab happened on September 8, 1979. The events of season 1 happen after Eleven inadvertently reopened the gate when making contact with the Demogorgon during an experiment.

So many things explained / tied in with each other: - Victor Creel's full story - One's backstory - Eleven's backstory and the creation of (probably) the first gate. - Vecna's identity and backstory. - Justin's explanation of Vecna being the Mindflayer's general. Effectively tying them together. - All the (small) portals explained. - How Vecna operates. - The time period of the upside-down. - Even Barb got tied in. I don't remember exactly, but I have a feeling the edited version is gonna have a lot of proving Pudgey's theories (and disproving they were Spartan's 😋 Looking forward to it 😄). Speaking of Spartan. When Steve was slinging ice cream or watching the "kids", didn't he say Steve was "not it", and was disappointing, and now all of sudden: "Steve is my boy!"? 😅

2024-06-23 23:12:21 +0000 UTCThe familiarity that you spoke of Spartan that 01 had for Brenner, was he mentioned (during the Nancy/Creel house montage) that his mom was calling up doctors and all sorts of professionals to see to her son (01) because she was suspicious of him, so as a revenge he killed his mom. Then after the whole event when his dad got arrested, 01 got taken directly to the doctor he hoped to avoid, Brenner. So that's what he was referring to, but yeah we don't know how he got his powers. I think that's just one of those, you just accept it kind of things. Its a supernatural kinda show, these things just happen, the boy developed powers

This episode finally establishes that everytime there is a strong enough psychic connection between the real world and the upside down, a tear is created. These tears are what we call gates. Most gates seem to heal slowly over time unless used. Also remember that 008 escaped well before the massacre. Henry and Eleven talk about her during one of their early conversations. When speaking of Eleven’s mom coming to find her, he says “this was when 008 was still with us.” I loved seeing the parents ganging up for the first time. I hope that comes into play eventually in the overall stranger things story. How cool are the transitions to and from the upside down getting? I loved the shot of the gangs on the bikes on both sides… and then the gangs looking up at each other from beneath each other. The stakes are growing! Nancy is at stake! We still have 2 people in the upside down! Two episodes left and the gang is split up between Russia, Utah, Hawkins, a secret underground desert lab, and upside down Hawkins! How are they ever gonna pull this one off!?!! Keep your eyes open. More is to be revealed. You have many answers but not all of them. As always it was a blast! See you for Chernobyl and HOTD!!!!!1!1!!1! PS some fun trivia but if you’re sharp eyed enough you will spot Eddie Munson himself telling Arya Stark to f*ck off at the gates of Winterfell when she finally returns home, not believing it’s her.
