If you know nothing about the property and just looked at the character designs you might think it was a your typical children's book story. It's not, and Nanachi's story is one of the most gut-wrenching parts of Season One. It's a good series, but be warned it gets very grim in spots.

2021-03-03 18:50:56 +0000 UTCI know Made in Abyss anime, so I do know Nanachi's story, and honestly, I have underestimated that anime. At first I took it as one of those children-made-for stories, with bountiful colors, amazing creatures and characters drawn in a kind of odd style... Then it made an U-turn to R-18 stuff that could give even an adult a nightmare! Amazing work Baron, Nanachi looks simply amazing.
