So at the beginning of the episode you asked why the road was all weird, like it looked like it was painted the wrong direction? It was not, in the cyberpunk canon, one of the super highways running out of Night City never got completed, so it just sits as an empty stretch into the desert that just abruptly ends like that. When he stopped running there it was because the road ended there. As they kept alluding to, Maine kept running until he physically couldn't any more. He had literally and metaphorically reached the end the road. RIP Maine.

There is no real βbalancingβ or βdownspeccingβ when it comes to people who get enough chrome. They just CANT. Itβs like a drug. You just have to get more and more until your body canβt take it. Most people die before that point. The ones who do last that long. Wellβ¦ You saw.
