I've have been reading all the Jiang Tian's Very Moment scenes as the "life's turning points" idea they mentioned earlier in the show: whether this is a moment that changed the way he perceives himself/someone else, a turning point in a relationship, etc. This one does just seem like trauma/shock of catching your parent cheating/sense of betrayal/being exposed to an overtly sexual act at a young age and not quite comprehending - not quite like Wang's awakening moment seeing the teachers but idk XD might just be me seeing it this way only

In terms of writing, this is my favorite episode. From the very beginning, it flows like a classical poem. In fact, I even incorporated the poems presented in this episode into my students' classical Chinese literature classes.
