Priests of Elemental Power

Let your clerics embrace the elements and add some new domains to your 5E game - the flame domain, stone domain, water domain, and winter domain. Experience the Flame Cleric's Avatar of Flames, see how Reverent Stones part before your Stone Cleric, and be awestruck by the Water Cleric's Roar of the Waves! By C. Richard Davies; illustrated by Sade.

for the flames domain, it says you can ignore a target creature's resistance to fire damage for the chosen cantrip, but sacred flame deals radiant damage, not fire damage.

Kyle Dinschel

Would love to see a paladin version of this!

How odd! This is EN5ider, a 5E Patreon. And this article was posted back in March, so you wouldn't have just received an email about it. There's a Patreon called TRAILseeker which is the Pathfinder one, which you appear to be subscribed to. You're not subscribed to this one as far as I can make out.

DnD EN5ider

Ummm, i am normally a Pathfinder subscriber, not sure why i received links for DnD5. Was my email placed in the wrong box by accident?

Robert Nichols

Casting in winter clothes is no harder than casting in heavy armor.

Chris Davies

Great stuff. I'm a big fan of your work and your site. I reference it a lot for inspiration.

Jeffrey Binder

I like this, especially the reflavoring of a couple spells, but I can't wrap my mind around why the Winter Domain would give proficiency in heavy armor.

Richard Ferguson

There's a mistake in the Stone Domain. The Stone Domain spells are ordered incorrectly (page 3).

Matthew Burriss

Fortunately I stopped after Air Domain, but for anyone looking to complete the 'elemental' domains here is a link: http://connorscampaigns.wikidot.com/5e-air-domain

Interesting and unique channel divinity features. Certainly went in directions I would not have thought to go, but I like most of them. I don't feel the stone cleric will get to use their CD features very often, if at all, being so dependent upon a specific situation occurring. Something more pro-active there might have been better, like the water and winter CD features. The fire one is also 'reactive' but is likely to come up more and can affect others.

Well done Richard. I was just in the process of writing up true elemental domains myself. I stopped after doing the Air one when I saw this article coming up. I am glad I did, these are very good and thank-you for not going back to the silly elemental - energy damage synergies of 3E/PF. Stone clerics dealing acid damage drove me nuts. I might substitute a few of the spells from WOTC Elemental Evil Player's Guide, but overall I was pleased with the direction of these domains. :)
