PSA about Names & Addresses

Just a quick note today! Since the summer I’ve been using a script to collect names and addresses directly from the data you’ve provided to Patreon.
If you prefer a name that is different from the one you’ve listed on your Patreon address — at one point I was able to manually adjust this each month. However, at the current size of the MBPS, that’s no longer manageable for me. If you want your MBPS postcards to be addressed to your preferred name, please update the address information you’ve provided to the MBPS at “account > manage memberships”!
And just in case you need this confirmed: The postal service absolutely does not care what you say your name is! They do not know who lives at your address. As long as it is safe with your other household members to receive mail by that name, there is absolutely no reason not to use a nickname, a chosen name, or a literal meme. They WILL deliver mail to you under the pseudonym of Rick Astley.
EDIT: Well… Your mileage may vary on impersonating Rick Astley. But nonetheless, inserting a preferred first name should not affect delivery.
Lastly: A very tiny minority of you have not provided your addresses to Patreon at all. I have them in your patron notes and have been manually inputting them every month. If this is you, it would be extremely helpful if you corrected this by putting your address in at “account > manage memberships.” This may only be accessible from the browser version!
