RTGI Beta 0.13 release

It's that time of the month again!

This update focuses almost entirely on performance - and does a pretty good job at that, depending on the settings you can expect a performance increase of about 100% - yes, it runs twice as fast as before. No clickbait.

It achieves this by rendering internally in a lower resolution. While that on its own is nothing special at all, it does so in a way that it produces a full resolution output within a few frames, so each frame renders a portion of that full frame output. All done in a way that each frame, a full resolution output is ready. As this drastically reduces the overhead required per frame, the performance goes up dramatically. The benefits would be even higher if not for the filter, which has to run in full resolution all the time and hasn't substantially changed. This feature isn't compatible with the half resolution rendering I done before, hence I removed the checkbox for now, you won't miss it with these performance gains anyways.

I also added a checkbox to allow some light leaking here and there, which helps with objects where the ray intersection location was behind the object. This should reduce light pop-ins.

Fixed a bug that made the GI go away when both fade start and end were at 1, the sky is now prevented from contributing to near field GI (meaning no more sky (as  object) scattering light onto objects right at the edge of the drawing distance) and a couple of more bugfixes below the hood.

For installation help, refer to the new ReShade wiki I wrote or ask on the Discord server.

Thanks for this great work!!

I had this issue too, fixed it by editing global preprocessor definitions. RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=1

Please make the texts and menus of the games are not affected by ray tracing.

I don't think it's working correctly with the Master Chief Collection Halo CEA. It is only working on the player model and nothing else.

Nice works :)

How do I hide menus or 2D elements in games for the RT shaders to not get over those 2D elements?

Silver Aga

Awesome work you are doing.
