one piece is still going and still is the biggest most famous anime out there the anime is an adaptation of the manga which is the source material manga's are Japanese comic books and the manga is still going for 27 years the manga came out in 1997. most anime are adaptation of already existing or popular manga because they dont have to make a new story from zero and helps promote the books this way.

Admittedly you could argue that I primed myself to be disappointed, but I went into the series extremely skeptical that they could tell a decent story given the inherent limitations built into it by virtue of being a prequel. And it...kinda lived down to my expectations? Anyway I only made it about halfway through the first season before I decided I couldn't keep going.

It always puts me in a good mood and the crew feels like my family and like I'm on the adventure with them. You don't understand how happy I am to see people who have never heard of it before this excited for my favorite story and characters!

2023-09-21 04:20:30 +0000 UTCRegarding Kuinaβs death, in the manga and anime Zoro is told that she fell down a flight of stairs, with the anime elaborating that she was going to get a whetstone to sharpen Wado Ichimonji. There was a rumor that I believe started on Reddit that in Japan βfell down the stairsβ is a euphemism for suicide, but Iβve never seen anyone from Japan confirm that, so itβs been widely considered debunked. Youβll probably see someone saying thatβs what happened in the comments, but itβs unlikely given that the point of her death is to be sudden, tragic, and somewhat random. It teaches Zoro that even powerful people can die in an accident, so live without fear of death and without excuses. Obviously everyone can come to their own conclusions about her death, but people will say thatβs a thing in Japan, and I donβt think it is, so figured Iβd give you a heads up.

For perspective, thatβs more than the Lord of the Rings or James Bond series! The anime is truly one of the most globally popular and well loved shows ever for anime fans. Personally Iβve been watching the anime since 2004 when it debuted in the US as a Saturday morning cartoon :) I grew up with it so Iβm very happy to see the live action series bringing in so many new fans! The live action adaptation is overall faithful to the original, with plot changes and cuts that make sense when condensing 45 anime episodes into 1 Netflix season. I hope you continue to enjoy the show!

2023-09-19 23:48:32 +0000 UTCSome portions of the live-action One Piece adaptation are more faithful to the manga, while others are more faithful to the anime. Certain parts of the manga are more violent than those of the anime. The plot is also altered slightly, but that is to be expected when squeezing 45 animated episodes (95 chapters of the manga) into eight live-action ones. We are currently 1,075 episodes into the animation, so yes, the adventure is just beginning! More epic story telling and characters are yet to come. Overall, as a longtime fan, I thought the live-action adaptation did a fantastic job; it captured the essence of One Piece. I'm looking forward to more seasons!

Also the anime which has 24 years going on, has maintained its popularity for a long time. the autor Eiichiro Oda continues writting weekly chapters... the story is the same... so you are right, this is just the tiny tip of the beginning. And the cool thing is that we have gotten a lot of progression... if you could only see the estatus of luffy and the crew has right now in the story.. is insane

Netflix is truly doing an amazing job at staying faithful to the adaptation whilst being straight to the point (no fluff). Truly love one piece and the absolutely amazing world and characters..I really canβt believe it all came out of one manβs mind. If you ever consider dipping your toes in the anime you should watch a video explaining the world of One Piece for beginners π other than that great reaction !

Not particularly with/for us but for your own entertainment. It's got many episodes but I promise it is worth it! One Piece is a VERY big and well known Anime and Manga and it's still ongoing. Oda (the creator) said in one interview that it took so long for a live action to be filmed because he wanted to do it the right way. And in my opinion they are nailing it so far! There are a few scenes that they changed in the series but it still works and doesn't take away too much of the original π Gonna watch the last two episodes with my best friend tomorrow and I'm excited and a lil sad bc then we'll have to wait for the next season... But I still got you guys for a few more weeks to re-watch it with you πππ» Can't it be the next week already?! Episode 5 was just so good and I look forward to your reactions π

And this live action adaptation broke the curse of live action adaptations. The cast was hand chosen by Oda-san(the creator) and they all put over 100% into bringing these beloved characters to life. The acot who plays Sanji (Taz Skylar who you'll meet in ep 5) did 8+ months of training in martial arts and culinary classes to prepare for his role and did all of his own stunts.

2023-09-19 22:09:39 +0000 UTCJust fyi, in the manga they didn't give any further information on Kuina's "accident", however, depending who you ask in the fandom, it's heavily implied that she committed s*icide which would've been too dark to put in the actual manga. There's also a scene in the anime where her father was the one telling her that she'll never be able to lead the dojo or become the best due to her being a girl.

Garp being Luffy's grandfather isn't revealed until episode 313, during the 17th arc. Meanwhile the end of this one would be at episode 18 in the anime. So, very early in comparison lol. I personally don't mind that much. Garp wasn't really involved in the anime up until that episode so it naturally didn't come up - but since he's here now it would be weird if they avoided it. Plus, in both versions it was pretty much used the same way - as a gag and episode cliffhanger. It is also the 2nd highest selling comic in existence beating Batman, and Spiderman (Only Superman left to go). Last time I checked, it was 516 million copies sold or something like that. It is also one of the most popular animes of all time. Also sold more than Harry Potter series in terms of book sales! If you guys fancy it, you can try reading some of the manga, if the anime is too daunting for you. The manga is the best form to consume it but the anime does have some amazing soundtrack and voice acting.
