EARLY ACCESS: Pixels FULL REACTION

Pixels brings together the best of two worlds: classic arcade games from the '80s and cutting-edge visual effects of today. While it might not be a cinematic masterpiece, it delivers an entertaining and nostalgic experience.

The film's premise is simple yet intriguing: Aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war and send real-life pixelated versions of these games to invade Earth. It's up to a group of former arcade champions, played by Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Peter Dinklage, to save the planet by defeating these pixelated foes.

Adam Sandler's performance as the film's protagonist may not be his most memorable, but he brings his signature comedic charm to the role. Kevin James, as the President of the United States, provides his own brand of humor, while Peter Dinklage steals the show as an egotistical former gaming champion. Where Pixels truly shines is in its nostalgia factor. The film is packed with references to classic video games, from Space Invaders to Centipede.

Pixels does have its flaws. The humor can be hit or miss. It's Adam Sandler's style of comedy. As long as you know that, then you should be entertained. The plot can be somewhat predictable. But, Pixels is a lighthearted and visually stunning homage to the world of arcade gaming. If you're a fan of classic video games or simply looking for an enjoyable popcorn flick, Pixels is worth a watch.

The only takeaway from critics my family and I have ever gotten, was to watch what they hate and avoid what they praise. I swear the movies/shows they promote are only because they are getting a kick back. Like, why even be a critic when clearly you are incapable of having a good time at the movies.

Great reaction guys. Oak's and mason quinn's dialogue on critics was so true and can be relayed to pretty much every movie. Would love to see an uncut gems reaction, hopefully it's on your list.

Dillon

Really enjoyed this movie and your reaction, my fav adam sandler movie of modern time (not his classics) is Just go with It ,along side Jennifer Anniston I hope you react to that some time.

Loved the reaction as always. You guys should check out Disney's Wreck it Ralph and the sequel if ya haven't already.

My niece begged me to watch it and honestly I couldn't get through it, it was just dumb to me. I didn't even really laugh once, it was just the same comedic formula that Adam has always done.

I love Wreck It-Ralph and not enough people have reacted to it which is a pure shame! But I couldn't stand 2, saw it once and will never see it again. If they ever do react to it I will explain more why.

During the post discussion you were talking about the Rotten Tomatoes scores, I look at the Critics score as more of a "general audience" score, and the Audience score as a "targeted audience" score. The critics are forced to watch the movie because it's their job, but the audience score is based on who paid to go see it in theaters. Towards the beginning you mentioned this movie was made for a targeted demographic, and I think that's pretty accurate.

Trey

I admit that I actually liked this movie way more than I thought. I couldn’t care less about the love story between Brenner and Violet. I just loved the action and the nostalgia.

I put this movie in a category w the Grown Ups movies - Sandler wasn't trying to break any records or utilize any ground-breaking effects. He simply said to himself, "When I have enough money and resources to make this kind of film, my friends and I are going to have a blast making it." "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional" and Sandler made this for a bunch of old gamers who never grew up. Edit: This is the last year I'm "almost 40" and I still play games, so it works for me!

Stef Furness

Ah! This movie! Still haven't seen it, with no plans too! haha. Feels like with Sandler there are two eras (at least for me, it's just my opinion! don't chastise me for it! haha) the 'Good' era and the more 'Modern' era. I LOVE Happy Gilmore, Little Nicky, Waterboy - all the ones from that era! But his more recent films starting around 'Grown Ups' (which is one of the last ones I enjoy) it REALLY declined for me!

Shane Kolaga

I’m not looking forward to watching this, so I give a quiet: let’s go.
