You know how much I love Sunset Valley, especially OldSunset. It breaks my heart to know that the work I spent years developing was too ambitious even for the current scope and limitations of The Sims 3. I considered reducing the number of Lots and even the distribution, I considered reducing so many things, that in the end, even on a giant map, it wouldn't have a significant impact. Except of course, conveying the feeling of emptiness if you needed to continue reducing.
With yesterday's post, today I had an idea. If tiny worlds/small worlds represent a place with fewer risks for the longevity of saves and gameplays, why not transform OldSunset into a Modular project! Referring to the idea of the Rebuild Verse project that I presented a few months ago?
Bringing this vision together, with the ability to implement more in-depth gameplay in each region, we can have the perfect union and OldSunset can still exist!
Of course, in a perfect scenario I would find someone skilled enough who would be willing to help me create distant terrain so that the maps don't look like mockups, but even if that doesn't happen, it's not necessarily that bad. Everything is related to the player and his way of playing. If I bring the camera closer to my Sims' lives, with the rich detail, slightly increase the fog, combined with the ornaments and attractions I can add to these compressed, modular worlds, I'll barely be able to notice the edges!

I'm interested in diving into this concept and seeing what I take away from it. I already have the base ready to work, converting OldSunset to isolated modules will be less difficult than it seems, since I already have everything I need to make this a reality.
The question is: Can each region receive more lots, more details, or should I keep each area as it was currently designed to be? What is your opinion?
