'Ello 'Ello 'Ello Everyone.

The Swill Public Shit-test.

A horrible skirmish game set in an exciting new place in the Turnip world, the city of Swill.

This playtest aims to discover any major flaws or questions with the core rules, as well as providing a foundation to expand on.

There is so much to add: Warmachines, Equipment, Cults, Campaign Rules and so much new art. You can expect something new every month until the game is actually good.

Designer Thoughts: I would like to create a more interesting simulation of a terrifying street-fight fought by people with fish on their heads.

- The next changes will be focused around capturing this feeling. Key elements I'd like to include:

1. Stumbling back and falling over when defeated.
 

As Swill is a city fight game, Interacting with a board full of lots of complex terrain requires a well designed "retreat" system. At the moment, it doesn't quite work.

We have a clash between the retreating system (moving away from something), and the knocked down system (staying where you are). I would like to unify these systems in a more thematic and entertaining way.

2. Fighting multiple opponents. 

I feel there is a need to represent one character being ganged up on and overcoming them. Being able to attack another model after a successful shooting engagement or melee would be fun if the risk is balanced well and possibly add more movement into the game, which is always enjoyable.

3. DRAW!

Shooting engagements and simultaneous shooting already do this to some extent, but we desperately need more cowboy revolver flavour. Id also like to tweak standing and shooting to represent this too. Being able to cut someone down before they can use their revolver would be great.

Perhaps using panic here would be interesting, maybe making their attacks much slower/less likely to hit when combo'd attacked from point 2.

I will be hosting constant of Tabletop simulator test games on Discord from tomorrow and running for a month. Come and annoy me if you'd like a game.

Feedback Pg2, Objectives are 32mm, VS pg13, Objectives are 40mm. Pg8, Shooting sequence has the attacker shoot twice. Pg11, climbing should be added to the list of panic inducers. Pg12, retreat distance is only 1" per panic token, and all panic tokens are removed every round?
